"CreateCare Global has set itself two tasks. The first is physical: to bring hope, support and comfort to children for whom poverty and loss are everyday tormentors. The second, and in our view equally important, is to spread the message to the world."
Our thanks to CreateCare Global for supporting the Square Circle Forum and helping to spread the wonderful work that KAS does.

Hello Barbara, You asked for the pattern and yarn of my striped blanket. I use 'New Fashion' double knitting by Woolcraft (I live in UK, don't know if this is available in USA). I had lots of half balls of yarn and worked out that I could probably get two and a half squares out of each 50g or so. I cast on 38 stitches on 4mm needles, 72/74 rows make a 20cm square. I knitted 36 rows and then changed yarn. I make 5 strips of 7 squares, so end up with a 140cm x 20cm strip. Hope this helps, regards Diane
Hi Barbara
Best wishes for a Happy Birthday. :))
Hi Barbara, Welcome from the Netherlands! Wish you lots of knitting or crochetting fun.I hope we all together can give warmth to the kids :)
Welcome to our warm KAS community. It's great to see you. We hope you will enjoy the forum and your region's group. You should join the USA group!
There are lots of great discussions going on in the forum, including the monthly challenges.
We have a challenge every month, if you want to get involved please do. It's not compulsory at all but some of the work done is just lovely. Have a look at the November challenge - the SLIP-OVER (under challenges in the main forum) this will give you an idea of some of the fantastic work this community is doing for the children of South Africa. Here is a link to the November challenge photos:
