Hi Harrison's Mom
Had a very busy Thursday in the blanket room, with huge amounts of post. Unpacked two parcels from you and was stunned by your gorgeous blankets! I know that they will be enjoyed by two children in the next series of distributions.
So enjoy your creativity!
Thanks for your comments. I'm glad that I will be able to use all the yarn I have as I have a lot. I haven't knitted for a while and have never been very good but I'm hoping I will get on okay with Grace's vest. The cotton yarn is lovely and soft so should be good.
I have been told that you are the expert on knitting looms i was just wondering if you can help me i have just bought a knitting loom and made my first hat but it is very thin and has large gaps i don't know if this is because of the yarn or if i'm doing something wrong.
Thanks Jeni and a Merry Christmas to you and Harrison. Today I was given 2 large garbage bags ( dustbin bags ) of yarn. Most of it in fluorescent colours. This yarn is going to make vibrant squares !! I can hardly wait to start....but first I must finish the Christmas presents .
I love all the pictures you have here. The hats are cool too. What do you do with all the blankets? Are you one of the ladies in the pictures? Looks like you are all having fun knitting away. I need to start crocheting the rest of my blanket. How did you put the pictues on here? Is the little boy your grandson? Never thought of puting flowers like those on squares before. Hope you are doing well. I'm so cold right now, I think my toes will fall off. It is 28 out there right now here in Va.
It's nice to see you back on the forum. Yes, I am pleased that the friend remembered my work for KAS.....though how they can forget is beyond me as I'm always mentioning it or showing photos :-)
How's the weather ? We have friends in Lanark so have been keeping an eye on the weather. Looks like you may need a boat this week We are having a snowstorm today ( you know what that is ) so I will be inside by the fire with my crochet hook finishing Christmas presents.
I don't have the patience for the flower squares that involve making the flower and square separately and then sewing the flower on afterwards, but all of those patterns incorporate the flower into the main design so that it is all one piece, so I find them quite enjoyable =). Oh, I love your picture of the Christmas tree covered in squares!
Hello Jeni....had a really good time in Scotland. We managed to do a day in Glasgow but after a quick walk round , lunch in the Willow Tea rooms..yes we had Haggis, Neeps and Tatties...then the tour bus so my "southern friends" could see some of the lovely buildings...it was time to go back to Edinburgh.
We got sunburnt one day on the golf course at Kingsbarns how is that for Scotland in October ! I think my friends have gone away with a fabulous impression of the country and its friendly people.
Hello Jeni...I have loads of wool now. I had the order from Kemps and Abakhan then someone else locally has heard what I am doing and they gave me a massive bag of mixed wool this week. There are some fabulous colours...but some are 2ply sock wool !!! I think I will have to use four strands at once I do not do small needles. Nearly done the Teddies. I do not have time to get the bags done for them before they have to be sent so they will have to go with another batch later...I think. Keep crocheting !.......Julia
"CreateCare Global has set itself two tasks. The first is physical: to bring hope, support and comfort to children for whom poverty and loss are everyday tormentors. The second, and in our view equally important, is to spread the message to the world."
Our thanks to CreateCare Global for supporting the Square Circle Forum and helping to spread the wonderful work that KAS does.
