Ronda has expressed the need for a newer vehicle to transport squares and blankets. Helen Flagg has proposed to the US Group that we raise funds to help KAS purchase a car. The idea has gone global and there is an initiative on the forum about it. Check the latest ezine video at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VK9mbUrGWI&feature=youtu.be
Also, The Humble Stitch Project has offered to ship all squares received in Florida by Dec 15th to South Africa for us for free. Check out their offer and the address on the Forum in the US Group.
I'm so sorry to hear aboout your brother and the mental health issues of your nephew. I missed the news somehow but did realize that you were MIA. We, too, have had our awful year. As you may remember, our older son and his wife were having drug addiction issues. They were both put in state prison in rehab programs last spring for a year. Caia was released this week and Jesse will be released in mid- February. Then they have 8 more months of rehab before they are free. In addition, we have lost several family members and one of our cats! A rough year for all of us. Here's to better times in the new year! I have a student coming in a few minutes so I'd better finish lunch.
Hi Jackie, Happy New Year! As January rolled around, I? began to think about last year and the Soweto Gospel Choir event. What fun we had! I hope all is well with you and that KAS is still keeping you busy. Best wishes,
Anyway, as shown in the pics, I made it to Job Lot and got a bunch more yarn. I managed to get 11 squares out of two skeins. Have you mentioned the sale on the US Group site?
Jackie...........thanks for pointing that out. Though I was looking for mine, I didn't see any that were mine for sure until you pointed it out. Very heartwarming on Mother's Day. Hope you had a good one. ! diane
Yeah I've been uber-busy, trying to get so many things done. About 20 projects I've got on hold ( Bday/x-mas present head start!)
I got accepted into Thomas Jefferson University College of Medical Professions, for Occupational Therapy, so I'm also getting enrollment stuff done, and I just got a second job, and a car.
The go-over looks lovely btw, and the girls of KNOTS can't wait to start more projects this summer for KAS!
Glad to be able to help! When you come of do the rest of your square you may need to add an extra row of double crochet to make it 8" as I think the pattern is just for a 7" square. Diane
Hi - sorry you're having problems with the pattern - they can be so frustrating! The the trc stands for triple crochet (normally tr is used) and drc I think is a typo and should mean double triple crochet, where you have 3 wraps of yarn around your hook. Hope that helps! Diane
I agree jacqueline, any way to promote helping the children, and that's what's so great about KAS, we're not doing it for us and we get all enthused and don't mind talking about KAS, sharing things or organizing events as a result.
