another NICE post office experience! :-)

The other day I sent another 1kg package off to South Africa. As usual, it was just a bit over 1kg (1017 grams... I always get a little too entusiastic when packing, and put just one to many things in...) A 1kg package costs 8.70 euros, whereas if it's over a kilo it costs more than 16.

I asked the woman if I could please use her scissors and tape to take one thing out and close it up again, and she looked at me and said, "let's just pretend it's exactly one kilo."

August knitting and crochet in Wisconsin

Anne and I are in Wisconsin now, and we already bought some yarn this morning!
We're having a big birthday party for our mom and her twin on Saturday, so we printed out the KAS poster, and will set up a table and chairs with some crochet and knit squares started, and we're sure some of our relatives join the fun!

Nice Post Office Clerk!

Yesterday I went to my local post office here in Florence, Italy to post 3 blankets, a cardigan, and 3 preemie hats. According to my scale at home, the package weighed a little less than 1kg, and therefore would cost me 8.70 euros to ship. When I got to the post office, however, the scale there said the package weighed slightly over 1kg, and therefore would cost me 16 euros to ship!
