The Donate button provides 2 options:
Because of PayPal/banking fees, KAS asks that your donation be 5USD [or more]. Anything less, means your donation is eaten up with fees. Thank you!
Our goal is to remove the monthly deficit that Ronda and her team have to deal with. You can:
1. Make a donation whenever you are able.
2. Sign up for an ongoing monthly donation (subscription).
3. Shop at the KasShop!

"CreateCare Global has set itself two tasks. The first is physical: to bring hope, support and comfort to children for whom poverty and loss are everyday tormentors. The second, and in our view equally important, is to spread the message to the world."
Our thanks to CreateCare Global for supporting the Square Circle Forum and helping to spread the wonderful work that KAS does.

Hi Patricia, great that you have sent so many squares already !!
Could I ask you to add this total to the tally we are keeping on the Drive to Fill Ronda's KASvan ? http://forum.knit-a-square.com/forum/topics/the-drive-to-fill-ronda-s-kasvan
Thanks
Linda
Thanks for your comments Patricia. I loved seeing your photo.
Would you add the comments to your photo. [click on Options at the top of the photo and then to edit to add them] If you can't get that to work please add them as a separate comment under the photo. Status comments tend to be lost very quickly and others will want to know about this bright new group :-)
Yes, that sounds like a good plan. Will you send them as squares or stitch up a blanket yourself? Some people send completed blankets...just mark "squares" on the package and the customs forms or there will be a duty import charge in South Africa.
Hi Patricia, I am glad that you found us :) Yes, please add me to your friends list. Have a great day :)
Hi Patricia, good for you for ordering a Tunisian hook ! If you have any questions, let me know and I'll try to help :-)
Linda
Welcome to KAS Patricia and warm greetings from South Africa :)
Hi Patricia, thank you for your reply! Also you can also join the UK Group for local 'gossip' and members exchange info on the best current yarn deals available! In fact, you are free to join any of the groups, no borders on KAS!
Welcome, Patricia, from suburban Philadelphia in the USA. So glad you've joined us! I use 32 stitches on US size 10 needles but you have to adjust for your own gauge. I also like to knit squares from corner to corner and then you can keeping increasing each row of knitting until a side measures 8 inches, then start decreasing. I think the pattern is in the pattern book mentioned by others. Glad you've joined us!
Hello Patricia, so glad you have joined us. Keeping the children in South Africa warm has brought together a world-wide group of caring knitters and crocheters.
We have a challenge for each month. This is a fun way to try new colours, ideas or patterns. A theme is chosen, and if you wish, you may create something new and different......it could be making a plain square using a new colour, a different stitch or trying a totally new way of knitting/ crocheting. An 8”/20cm square is the perfect size for experimenting.
This month we are Celebrating the Variegated Square. These yarns are such fun and create a uniquely different pattern with each square made. We would love to see your creations ! Click here to join the discussion.
As always, making the basic square is a wonderful way to relax and still help the children. Plain Janes, as they are affectionately called, are the backbone of KAS. Since it takes 35 squares to make one blanket, squares are needed all the time
If you are interested in joining any of our challenges, please note: Your parcel does not need to arrive in South Africa before the end of the month. Those of us who use sea-mail find parcels take between 6-10 weeks to arrive. Whenever your parcel arrives, know it will be appreciated and that you are keeping children warm.
Enjoy !
