Good on ya', Lucinda. Thank you.  :)) No stress, I think when I joined (in 2010) it took me 18 months before I had enough for a couple of parcels....children, work, etc.

Four year olds are such fun..past the 'terrible twos' and not quite old enough to be a 'know it all'.....hahaha.

I'm guessing with your Mum being South African, she would have shared about those less fortunate there.

Knit A Square is planning a mass distribution in April, here is the link if you would like to read about it. Of course you may have already found the discussion for yourself.  :))

Hi Lucinda.

A warm welcome to the Knit A Square forum.  :))

Knitting,  crocheting or looming an 8" square or two, or possibly even a few is a wonderful gift for the children. They love to receive their blankets, created from squares, which come from kindly, caring folk such as yourself, from over 60 countries all over our world.  PJs (Plain Janes as they are affectionately known) are the backbone of all our blankets. These are single colour squares that are in garter stitch(knitting) or single crochet as they are very solid and provide a contrast to a picture/striped/patterned square or two that may be added to a blanket.By clicking on the KASpattern book tab at the top of the page or our other square pattern discussion  http://forum.knit-a-square.com/forum/topics/member-s-patterns-squares you can also find lots of patterns provided by our fellow K-A-Sers. If you would kindly check out our wishlist, you can see what items we are currently focusing on.  http://square-circle-forum.ning.com/forum/topics/what-our-children-need-2019

Clicking on the 'Helpful Hints' tab at the top of the page, will possibly answer many initial questions you may have .Any other questions...please click on the following link and ask there...

If you'd like to see what other KASers have been making please click on the photo tab at the top of the page....and feel free to add photos of your creations...we would love to see them. Just click on 'add photos' and follow the prompts.

If you want to see the most active discussions at present, please click on the 'main page' tab and they are listed in the centre of that page...just pick one and click on it. It is a large website, but with so much fun and info.

Each month we have a fun theme to inspire and motivate us. If you would like to see this month's theme, please click on this link:  http://square-circle-forum.ning.com/forum/topics/a-slice-of-africa-february-2019

F.Y.I here is our 2019 themes list....these themes are just for fun and there is no pressure to join in. ANY squares you would like to make are most welcome and much appreciated. :))

CREATECARE GLOBAL

"CreateCare Global has set itself two tasks. The first is physical: to bring hope, support and comfort to children for whom poverty and loss are everyday tormentors. The second, and in our view equally important, is to spread the message to the world."

Our thanks to CreateCare Global for supporting the Square Circle Forum and helping to spread the wonderful work that KAS does.
