Lesley King has not received any gifts yet
Thank you so much Lesley for your compliments. I will write you an email and explain how I made the edge around the blanket. xo
Lesley, did you find a pattern for the pentagons? Please let me know. If you didn't, I'll send you the pattern I use.
I have a pattern for the African Flower Ball. I can send it to you, but I found it on Internet under African Flower Soccer Ball. It was created to celebrate the World Cup in SA. If you can't find it ther, let me know and I'll send you my copy. It's only 5 rounds. You need 12 to make a ball the size of mine, which is smaller then a regular soccerball.
Hi Lesley
I saw your comment on my square (thank you!). The yarn that I used is called Crofter and is made by Sirdar. It comes in many different colour combinations and is lovely to work with. In this picture, it is the ball on the far right: http://forum.knit-a-square.com/photo/bargain-yarn?context=user
Hope that helps! Helen
Hi Lesley.
No worries. It takes a little time to see how it all 'works'.
Thanks again for joining us.....and....Happy knitting/crocheting. :))
Hi Lesley.
A warm welcome to Knit A Square from over here in Western Australia. :))
Knitting or crocheting an 8" square or two or possibly even a few is a wonderful gift for the children. They love to receive their blankets, created from squares, which come from kindly, caring folk such as yourself, from over 60 countries all over our world. You are encouraged to knit/crochet in any stitch you prefer, but we do ask that they not be too 'lacy' as warmth is our highest priority. PJs (Plain Janes as they are affectionately known) are the backbone to all our blankets. These are single colour squares that are in garter stitch(knitting) or single crochet as they are very solid and provide a contrast to a picture/striped/patterned square or two that may be added to a blanket.By clicking on the KASpattern book tab at the top of the page you can also find lots of patterns provided by our fellow KASers. If you would kindly check out our wishlist for 2016, you can see what items we are currently focusing on.

"CreateCare Global has set itself two tasks. The first is physical: to bring hope, support and comfort to children for whom poverty and loss are everyday tormentors. The second, and in our view equally important, is to spread the message to the world."
Our thanks to CreateCare Global for supporting the Square Circle Forum and helping to spread the wonderful work that KAS does.
