Perhaps I had too much time on my hands today, but I rescued yet another poor little square. The photo on the left shows what it looked like before I started. It wasn't pretty, but I knew it would be warm. I found some fabric, made a little "pillow case" and slipped the square inside. I blanket stitched around and then crocheted. The photo on the right is the "unusable" square all ready to do a great job!

Waste not, want not.  What a great way to make over a square that would otherwise be as you said un-useable.  It now looks really pretty and also warm, well done!

So much great thought here, it is hard to find the words to express it.  You are a creative genius!  Glad you had some time on your hands!

What a super idea for those who sew---they could make up these pillows with stuffing in them for us crocheters to finish off....and yes, there are some yarns I would hesitate to make and send, just too drab or whatever but this is sure a great solution, not to mention when one receives donations of oddly shaped "squares"...brilliant idea and what a gorgeous square, it looks very Christmassy indeed and that cute little wreath in the center too.  Love it!

Excellent Gloria!  What a clever way of making the square usable, plus it became a beautiful Christmas square for this months challenge!  Very cool :)

Gloria, occasionally I receive squares that, ahem, need a little bit of TLC - and I add a little cross stitch motif.  However, this method makes more sense and would be less time consuming! Brilliant!
