Having never made a blanket of squares before, I wanted to try it. I won't crochet squares together in the future though, as I realise squares are preferred.

Lovely Christine. Such pretty colours and they all work really well together. I love how the crochet around each square and then the border of the blanket (to join them) brings the whole blanket together. Hope to see this one in a distribution photo once it arrives in SA.
A wonderful, colorful, fun blanket! Good job!
Lovely blanket I wish I could crochet square together, great job, you should be proud of this.
Beautiful colours. Sewing them together takes ages. Have done it a few times when I have been giving them as a gift.
Absolutely stunning!
Great job Christine and Linda's tip and advice is good. i too have sent the full items sometimes but with a photo set out it will be as gorgeous, as they take such care joining the squares. We can all watch out for this one around a child.
Gorgeous blanket !
I agree with Christine, it is satisfying to complete a whole blanket. When I feel the need to sew together a blanket, I follow Wendy's example and lay out the squares in blanket form and take a photograph. The photo is sent with the squares and the volunteers will sew the squares according to the photo. Gives me the satisfaction of a 'complete' blanket without the worry that duty will be charged.
PS Please add the squares total to the Drive to Fill Ronda's KASvan. We are close to 60% full !

Just beautiful, Christine...
There is something very satisfying about completing a whole blanket from time to time - squares look so much better when joined. Yours looks lovely. (I don't usually like mauves but I'll have to remember how much better it looks mixed with blue.)
