Anne, I actually purl the first stitch (I think I may have got that tip from one of our members) and it does help to make it a little neater...just not quite as good as yours. :) I have been going to try slipping the first stitch, as I do remember someone else on here saying they do, but like you I keep forgetting to. Thanks for your reply.

Bev, I just knit the first stitch. I know that most people slip the first stitch but I never remember to do it! simple knitting...
