Picked up 4 "left over" skeins at the yard sale for 50 cents a piece.  One is 100% cotton.   I might stop by again in the morning as she had a bagful of incomplete projects including granny squares. It didn't dawn on me until 15 minutes later that I could "grow" the squares to the  needed 8 x 8.    Don't know whether it's age or the HEAT but I'm sure getting slow on the uptake!!!

I find yard sales to be wonderful ways to restock my stash and on the cheap, too.  Sometimes if I tell the seller  why I want the yarn they'll reduce the price or just give it to me.

I don't mind paying yard sale prices, but it's amazing how often a person wants to help and donating a leftover skein of yarn makes them feel like they're part of what we are doing.

Last week a woman handed me a stack of soft cover books to "send to the kids in Africa."

I started a vest yesterday.  One of these days I need to start posting some photos of my squares, etc.

Toby, let us know how it went at the yard sale!  Valerie these squares are all beautiful.  I haven't the energy today to reply to all the photos but they all look SO lovely!  Bravo and high fives girl.  Excellent work!

I'm afraid that's the only way I'll get color in my garden.  Certainly eye-catching.  Are you blocking the squares?

My pile is growing with 2 dozen squares and 6 hats done.  Yesterday I started on a vest, just for a change of pace.

I'm about to head out to a yard sale where yarn was the first item listed.  Wish me luck!!!!

Beautiful squares Valerie and I love that you put them up on the washing line. It makes a great pic :)
