felt "Beatle" car square
I knitted a square (too small) so I crocheted around the edge! today I added a car - I used felt and blanket stitched it on with different coloured embroidery threads.

Yes, the recommended length for the tail is 50 cm/20". The main website is in the process of being updated so the info there will be changed.
Ecozee, when I don't have enough yarn for the tail I add one at the corner using a complimentary colour. Or sometimes I add a small ball of yarn to the parcel. The volunteers can use it to sew up any squares that arrive without tails.

well, i actually ran out of the pink on this one so had none left to leave. I think it is now 50 cm they would like but i am hoping that there will be enough thread on the neighbouring square to sew this one up too!!!

the added crochet edge looks as if it were meant to be and nicely frames the square picture!--- Something else, and I hope you don't mind me bringing this new question I have here: I see in one info that --- we are to leave a 100cm or 1m thread at the end of each square. But in another newer info it says to only leave 50 cm. Which one is best? Or correct?

The car my husband had when I first met him was a bright yellow VW Beetle car. This one reminds me of it. I think I may need to crochet an edge round a couple of my knitted squares too, which works out great for contrast eh? I love how you used different colors of embroidery threads...how cute!
