Oh that´s lovely. Simple, but imaginatively designed.

Great Square!  And now Linda has me humming the 3 little fishies song!

I love this, three little fishies!!  So cute and I really like how you used the different colors.  Very pretty Gillian!

Delightful !   Reminds me of the song :

Down in the meadow in a little bitty pool
Swam three little fishies and a mama fishie too
"Swim" said the mama fishie, "Swim if you can"
And they swam and they swam all over the dam

Utterly charming!  I checked our still frozen over lake and there's 3 ice fishing huts still there, not sure they can be removed now...the fish might get new homes!  I used to have guppies in all colors and these remind me of them. So cute!

I found this pattern in the KAS Pattern Book under Zanny's basket weave square http://www.knit-a-square.com/support-files/knitted-square-zannys_ba...

I love this pattern (it's ideal for scarves) and all you have to do regardless of the amount of stitches, after row 1 , knit all purls and purl all knits. It makes a very good sea Gillian.

Thanks Gillian...will have to check it out.  :))

Hi Bev - answer to your question - it's the Basket Weave pattern off here - K4, P4 - I was just doing a square, but changed midway through to make it part of the challenge x

It's wonderful to see more knitted challenge squares!  The crocheters always do such gorgeous work and now the knitters are doing the same!!!  Lovely work!

What a super square, Gillian......great colour combo and your fishies will look great in a blanket...just one question, what is the garter pattern in your square, please??...it looks like strips of garter stitch....most intriguing!!  :))
