Jeni you can subscribe to Lidl site, and they will email you all their offers before they come up. I just did this in Lanzarote Lidl just incase they bring any yarn over here.It costs nothing to go on their mailing list. x

How did we miss that ? I have friends watching Aldi for another of their offers as that wool knitted up a dream. We need to "recruit" some more spies !

I'm gutted. Lidl had a yarn offer on a couple of weeks ago and I didn't know until it was too late. :(

World Cup Concert on BBC2 tonight at 9.30pm. Not sure but it might be showing the Soweto Gospel Choir - apparently they are part of the opening ceremony on Friday too.
I will certainly be watching - will you?

I have found myself watching the related World Cup programs with great interest but also scanning the background just incase there might be a child with a KAS blanket tucked under it's arm. I have never watched so much football stuff in my life.

Message from Erin in SA:

Dearest KASers...

I've just been reading the "more squares' discussion and we are so looking froward to receiving all your squares in the coming weeks! Thank you!

May I ask you all one favour - just to streamline the opening and 'logging' process on this side... If you could all include a small piece of paper with your name, full address and the contents of your parcels when you send them it would make the process very quick and simple. e.g.

Erin van der Vyver
Address
32 squares
4 pencils
2 sharpeners etc.

At the moment, we cut out your addresses (from the envelope or box), physically count the contents and then register it on our 'square count' list before we can move on to the next package.

It would be MOST appreciated and will help us to move more quickly through the opening process.

Thought I had put this into the Scottish group but it didn't seem to save.
Great yarn in Poundstretcher. Arran in self patterning bright colours for 5 pounds. it's only 4 pounds if you go for a self colour. 400g balls. Not bad. I bought the sort of turquoise mix. They are also selling quite a range of DK yarns too.

Anyone handy for Glasgow, there is a huge yarn shop in the Barras. It sells quite a wide range of yarns, many of the cheaper ones and is selling 2 500g balls of DK in khaki greens and brown tones for only £8. I bought the khaki. It will be great for some boy coloured blankets for those who may prefer duller tones. There were also some excellent bargains in baby arran and regular arran.

Oh I hadn't realised the date.
Haggis is one of my very favourites.
Unfortunately we can only get frozen neeps in Lanzarote.
Got macaroni for tonight so I guess I might leave the haggis till the weekend, and invite a Scottish friend around.
Enjoy everyone.
Lang may your lum reek!
