Not a Dr. Who item but it does affect us :-)
Elaine Jones and Pam Johnson [UK] are trying to win £7,000[$12,600USD] from the Paypal Giving Fund for Knit for Life but they need our help. If you have an Ebay account – or would be willing to register for one – go to: :http://www.ebay.co.uk/egw/ebay-for-charity/charity-profile/?NP_ID=6...
Click on the “Save as Favourite” button then follow the onscreen instructions, and that’s it.
It doesn’t commit you to anything but it may just win funds that Knit for Life can and will donate to KAS. We have until the end of December to vote.
I found a site for Dr. Who's scarf
http://www.doctorwhoscarf.com/s12.html
references are made to several versions 12 feet and 14 feet mentioned.
I need time to look at the site in detail. That could be almost a blanket! There are knitting instructions as well and colours. There are different versions also. At 12 to 14 inches wide x 12 feet (if we knit 8 inch squares) = a blanket, I think.
It took me a couple of episodes to wrap my head around the new Doctor but I do like him. I can't pick a favourite episode as they all had interesting features. I was disappointed in the final episode...that is until Santa Claus appeared ! I know the Christmas special will have a happy ending.
Arlene, Dr Who's scarf is very, very long ! I wonder if there is a blanketsworth of squares in it !!
Star Trek fan from the beginning and love Dr. Who too. Always thought about that Dr. Who scarf in terms of KAS squares since I joined KAS. I wonder how many squares it would make? Any guesses?
So season 8 is over. What do you think of it? Did you enjoy the new doctor? And what was your favourite episode? Do you think we will see Clara in the Christmas special, or do you think she has gone for good?
?
I really enjoyred listen. The poor child crying in the barn.....
Maybe a KAS comfort doll would have helped. :).
Now I want to watch "Listen". It sounds like that fabulous episode Blink !
It's always difficult to adjust to a new Doctor....imagine what Clara feels like ! That cute 'silly' Matt Smith and now Peter Capaldi :-)
I liked the Robot of Sherwood episode. It was light hearted even with the danger from the Metal Men.
I saw the new Doctor last weekend. I am not sure... adjusting to change, but I agree he is like the earlier Doctors, and I am sure I will get to like him.
The Donate button provides 2 options:
Because of PayPal/banking fees, KAS asks that your donation be 5USD [or more]. Anything less, means your donation is eaten up with fees. Thank you!
Our goal is to remove the monthly deficit that Ronda and her team have to deal with. You can:
1. Make a donation whenever you are able.
2. Sign up for an ongoing monthly donation (subscription).
3. Shop at the KasShop!

"CreateCare Global has set itself two tasks. The first is physical: to bring hope, support and comfort to children for whom poverty and loss are everyday tormentors. The second, and in our view equally important, is to spread the message to the world."
Our thanks to CreateCare Global for supporting the Square Circle Forum and helping to spread the wonderful work that KAS does.
