This is a really important project for KAS and will benefit the cold school children.

Here's the Link to the Blue Scarf Project discussion. You will find all the details about scarf requirements and WHY we are doing this in the introduction

Pam is doing a "Totaliser" in the intro, so once a month when we hear from Ronda how many scarves have arrived, Pam will update it For every 10 scarves she will use a scarf symbol. Every time we reach 50, she will post a school bus.

The current number of scarves to arrive is 44 - we are close to getting our first bus!

The benefit KAS receives in having their mail picked up and delivered to the offices by the pharmaceutical company and in addition the monetary help in rent money are both real advantages for KAS. In return, we need to get on board and support KAS by making and donating the navy scarves

Please post photos of your scarves in the discussion and in Photos - we have an album started

Our own Gloria Grandy [with help from her family] has created a wonderful video for KAS.  It will have you tapping your toe and singing along with this very catchy tune.

The Knit-a-Square Song … A great way to spread the word!

Here is the video:

Please share the video with family and friends.  Also add your comments  on Gloria’s October challenge

PS I’ve also added the music video to the Main Page of the forum.

We’re starting the 2014 Squares List with a new format and a new time !

Format: The Squares Lists may be viewed on the KAS website:   Click on ‘Received Squares’ .

If you are interested in learning how many squares and items are received each month, please visit the Monthly Squares List discussion found in DiscussionsCategories. [Click on Squares List and Tally]

Time: To give the team in South Africa more time to log all the information, the Squares List will be available around the middle of each month.  The ‘News Flash’ [on the right hand side of each forum page] will announce when the new Squares List has been added.   There will not be an announcement made on each country group.

2014 The Year of the Square !  Let’s send the numbers right off the graph !!

Hi everyone.  In the UK, Pam Johnson and I are trying to win £300 to buy wool so our knitters can make loads of squares.  We are also hoping, if successful, to send some out to South Africa.  All that's needed is enough votes to win each week in a poll set up by the company Mars.  The link is:  www.galaxyhotchocolate/fund/knit-forlife   Anyone can vote from anywhere in the world - it just takes a couple of clicks on the mouse.  Knit for Life is our UK registered charity, supporting KAS and raising funds to pay the shipping costs.  Please help if you can.  Thank you.

The Donate button provides 2 options:

  1. One time donation
  2. Monthly subscription               [click the box]

Because of PayPal/banking fees, KAS asks that your donation be 5USD [or more].  Anything less, means your donation is eaten up with fees.  Thank you!

Our goal is to remove the monthly deficit that Ronda and her team have to deal with. You can:

1. Make a donation whenever you are able.

2. Sign up for an ongoing monthly donation (subscription).

3. Shop at the KasShop!

Please follow this discussion for monthly updates, current financial reports and ideas on what we can all do to help. Click link :
