Sometimes it is good to air your problems.
My name is Jennifer and I am a yarnaholic.
Thankfully my stash doesn't look all that scary in this picture. Okay not quite all of it is here and some of is is hiding behind others but it doesn't seem too bad does it? I'm sure there are many more of you with bigger bundles lurking in your homes.
To the left is 2 baby blankets for family babies, a big pile of squares I'm working on for KAS and my March hats which I haven't posted yet. To the right is a bundle of pieces for a friends wedding present blanket which is cream and light blues. The very front has a bundle of beautiful cotton/silk mix that I bought a year ago to make a throw-over for myself but haven't gotton round to it yet. Front right is one of my hat looms with a hat started on it. 2 of my other sized looms also have the beginnings of hats. I wanted them all to be started for a talk I am doing at the end of the month so that everyone there can have a go at hats, knitting or crochet. No one will escape having at least a little go.

Have loved some of the stories on here! I'm currently on holiday in Krakow and thought I would get myself a souvenir. The only thing I've managed to buy so far is some wool off the market because it was such a lovely colour! I take comfort from the fact that I'm not the only one who would do something like this, even if my holiday companion things I'm crazy!

Dee, it beats bringing home a girl in a hula skirt with a clock in her stomach, or any number of tacky dust catchers. Our stashes are not dust catchers since they're all squirrelled away in closets, boxes, drawers and chests, lol. And at least you'll have use for that yarn...what use can one have for a plastic momento?
To see what I mean, have you ever watched the Pixar short film "Knick Knack"? It's quite funny but it also shows the alarming amount of tourist junk one can bring back from vacations. Glad to hear you're enjoying yourself, and that wool you bought, just think, nobody else in the whole world has it--well most don't, so you can make something truly unique with it. :) (plus you supported a home industry--whoever raised, sheared that sheep and then processed the wool) Ta da. Well done.

That was my kind of souvenir, Dee. I bought wool yarn in new Mexico on one of our trips in a shop handling items from the local reservation.

Well done you. I have often gone on holiday with a bag of yarn to work on and still bought more from a local market. I can't resist a good yarn bargain and it is such a nice thing to buy on holiday. You can always remember the holiday while making KAS squares.
