Hi Friends!

It is that time of year again, when we look toward the themes for the coming year.....2020.
Please, while you are crafting, pop on your thinking caps and share with us what YOU would like to see on the list for next year. We may not be able to include every suggestion, but we will certainly give it a good crack.  :))
Thus far, I have noticed that members have mentioned  PJs, Stripes, diagonals and music (repeat of this year) in various discussions.
We also usually include an education month (letters, words, colours, shapes) and 'Africa' theme, but these are not 'set in stone'.
Please share.....the more ideas = greater variety.
I am so appreciative of the umbrella created, once again, by our friend, fellow KASer, Chris Chiplen.
Sometimes a photo can say so much more than words can express.....
Please remember these joyful faces as we knit and crochet in the year ahead.
We have the ability with our love, imaginations, needles, hooks and yarn to brighten the lives of vulnerable children in South Africa, as we make and send squares, blankets, hats, hand warmers and toys to Ronda and her wonderful team of volunteers to distribute to the children.
So let us bring JOY to as many children as we can in 2020!
Thank you, Chris. Your inspirational 'umbrella' will certainly set our 'ideas wheels' in motion.
Looking forward to reading your theme suggestions, Everyone.

Anything Goes,

The longest Time (wool we've had the longest and overlooked)

Oh Karen, I have no overlooked yarn anymore. I got to the bottom of my stash this month and I'm having to start collecting again. A great feeling though.

2020 is an Olympic year.  Let's celebrate the games and sports.  Country flags, balls, shoes...

Transportation.  Anything that moves, bikes, cars, trains, rocket ships, wagons, helicopters and the like.

Thank you, Karen and Amy.

The Longest Time sounds like fun....and I have LOTS that could be included in that category.   :))

I had this nagging feeling in the back of head that there was one that had been mentioned that I had forgotten.....the Olympics!!! Thanks Amy.  :))

LOVE the transportation theme. I had been thinking 'planes, trains and automobiles just this arvo while I was ironing...yes, I iron....the last of the dinosaurs....hahaha.

Definitely not the last - I have my ironing board up as I type - about to start on a load of bed linen!

Definitely the music one - that was great fun. Also knowing in advance would give us lots more planning time.

Maybe something simple like favourite colours.

What about sweets?  Candies?  There are so many bright colours in Smarties and M&Ms as well as the stripes of seaside rock candy sticks and humbug sweets.  The stripes of candy canes at Christmas and of peppermint sweets with their green and white.  I am sure we all have favourites from when we were a child (mine was a boiled sugar sweet called Yorkshire Mixtures - and I have all the fillings to prove it!) that we can recall as we knit them.  Maybe we could include things like barley sugar twists and out a cable into our squares..........  This could be a good one to generate a lot of stripes or PJs.

Glad to see so many have mentioned stripes!  They are my favourite to knit (does that mean I have a short attention span ? - get bored after a few rows of one colour).  How about Stupendous Stripes?

Thank you, Patricia, Rebecca and Anne. I LOVE stripes and bright colours.  :))

I love stripes too Anne :))

Single colour themes always seem to go down well - lots of scope for all abilities, from PJs to elaborate designs.  Of course, if we 'Go for Gold' it could link up with the Olympic suggestion :)
