Ever wonder what happens with all that mail that arrives in South Africa?  It goes to the KAS Barn where many volunteers SORT everything out to eventually be distributed to local children.

Please check in here on a regular basis to see photos from all the activity in the KAS Barn during 2020.

News from the Barn on January 21.

We collected some blankets yesterday from gogo groups, so will have lots of
pics next week.
I think there is a pic of the magazine we received from Croatia showing some
KAS group pics from there - we cannot make up our minds whether it is a
knitting magazine or a social programme magazine, or perhaps a local area
report of some sort ?  But Croatia are doing a lovely job of work for us.
We are also SO happy to have received the 10 large boxes from Knit-for-Life
(Pam and Elaine in UK) - what an amazing job they have done over the years,
raising funds to help those who are less able to afford the exorbitant
postal costs by collecting and sending en masse.  WONDERFUL !
We are blessed at KAS !!!!
Viv opened a parcel from Julia Ngari from the USA with these fabulous squares stitched into strips - thank you Julia, all ready to make a stunning blanket.
Other goodies from Croatia.
I meant also to point out our new KAS / Huawei wifi tower which is a plug
and play and the volunteers are DELIGHTED to have access to wifi on a
Tuesday !!!
Leanne, Bongi and Tango were in the Barn for the first time of 2020.

I see some "pink" packages from the RJSK!!!  We know our parcels are arriving because we see our name on the squares list.  But it's lovely to see our parcels snuggled up to other parcels in the KAS Barn.  Thank you for the photos ... xo

More photos from the Barn on January 21.

Estelle opened her first package from Sweden and found these incredible items.

Mabel getting a load  of blanket packs ready to deliver to some gogo groups and the Free State Satellite group.

Thanks Amy. It’s lovely to see all the activity in the Kas Barn.

Photos from January 28.

The cake is starting to rise for 2020.

Somebody's bag is packed with goodies to be sewn together.

The ladies are quite lovely in their animal print polar fleece.

Thanks, Amy!  Just look at all that warmth and fun.  The octapuses tucked into that box of toys are adorable!

Are the ladies sharing the polar fleece or do they each have one?  They certainly do seem to be enjoying it/them ... haha ... xo

From Estelle about January 28:

It cost KNIT A SQUARE over R3500.00 to collect this post yesterday. The big boxes at the back were not included as they were delivered by courier. I think its absolutely shocking to charge a charity to collect their post.

More photos from Estelle.

My goodness I am in total shock.   The middle picture of these three above is my all-in-one blanket and handwarmers that I posted from the UK by International Economy on Jan 9th!!   This parcel has arrived super-speedily at the barn.   I'm beyond delighted!

That's great news Karen!

Happy dance.

Karen that blanket is GLORIOUS!
