  • Maureen - I printed off this pattern and took a run at making this little bear.  For me there is too much counting and fiddling, so I gave up. I then made a fairly presentable bear by crocheting two circles and adding ears, arms and legs where I thought they shoud be... no pattern required... The bear is small, so if a leg or ear looks wrong, you are just pulling out a few stitches.

    • Where is the pattern that you made?  Are you sharing that and if so, where can I find it.

      Thanks for taking the time.

      • Maureen - I don't have a pattern.  I crocheted the circle from the pattern above for the body.  Then I made a second circle just using row 1 & 2 for the head. I sewed the two together and then experimented with the ears, arms and legs using sc and or hdc.

        • I have been trying to make it in one fell swoop without breaking off, so maybe I should just call it good.

          Thanks, Anne.

  • Hi Maureen,

I don't crochet, but this is the pattern I found. I'm sure some of our wonderful crocheting ladies could give you a hand.

    Chain 2
    row 1. 9 sc in 2nd chain from hook = 9sts
row 2. 2 sc in each sc around = 18 sts.
row 3. [2sc in next st, 1 sc in next st] to end = 27 sts.

The circle is now divided up with 3 sc for the neck part, 3 each for the arms, 4 for each leg, with 5 x 2 chain spaces = 27

Legs and arms are worked with dc stitch and 1 row of sc. Slip stitch down side of leg and across 2 chain space and work the next leg.

    Head
There should be 7 sc space left between the arms.
Join yarn to middle 3 and work 2sc in each of 3 sc. turn. =6 sts
1 sc in first stitch, 2sc in next 4 sts 1sc in last st. turn.
    sc across. turn.

    Ear
sc the next 2 sc tog twice, turn.
with right side facing, 1sc, 4 hdc, 1sc in first space, 1sc in 2nd space
    sc. fasten off.

Rejoin yarn to other side of head
sc the next 2 sc tog twice, turn.
with wrong side facing, 1sc, 4 hdc, 1sc in first space, 1sc in 2nd space
    sc. fasten off.

Sew eyes and nose in black. Be careful not to let the black yarn show through on the reverse side.

Add some ribbon and you're done.

    • Yes, that is it.  I did not know it if breaks copyright and infringement for me to post it as above.  I am a new member this week of Crochetville and they have a lot of rules about patterns and copyright.  I have not been able to contact SusiQ at Crochetville to get permission to post it so I gave the url.

      • This wasn't posted on the website. It was shared in the comments so I don't think we have to worry!

        • OK, that is a relief.
