I received some photos from Ronda this week Susanne of articles that I know were sent last summer and have just turned up at the opening day 9th February. Presumably the strike had something to do with this so there's still hope.
There was a large number of parcels received on 9th February and Ronda sent these pictures of some of the goods:
The items on the bonnet of the van were received sopping wet which Ronda thinks is probably a SAPOS issue as there has been a lot of rain recently. Wendy took them home to wash and dry so they'll be okay Christine.
Unfortunately it is a parcel of mine, 35 August flag squares and two Go-Overs. Although I always send my parcels in the Post Office plastic bags and seal them with tape, water will always find a way in if it is stored in a wet place. I suppose it was better for it to be my parcel rather than a new member, as it might have put them off sending again!
Very likely this is a result of our original Bryanston Branch closing down Christine, plus the strike. Ronda had another huge post this week and parcels are arriving that members sent ages ago - guess they been stored in a wet basement whilst we waited for the new branch to open! Thankfully, this is not a regular occurrence - thank goodness for Wendy!
What a wonderful sight.Thank you
And unless they mildew, knitted items are pretty much impervious to being wet. Don't put woolen items into a hot dryer, but a fresh washing should take care of them.
Good to see so many lovely completed blankets.
