A marvellous collection of photos. It's lovely to see all the team with names to go with faces.
Lovely to see all the KAS volunteers. What an awesome looking 'wall' of blankets too! No doubt come March/April in particular though that wall will diminish in no time.
Big hugs and thanks to the KAS team, hope they all have a lovely holiday till the next sorting day.
Thank you. I loved the captions. Go Mabel, your blouse is stunning. Such an exciting buzz in the air with all those parcels collected. And once again a wall of warmth. Happy Christmas to all of you and a fulfilling New Year.
A fabulous collection of photos and snippets, today. I love seeing the photos of our long-standing volunteers and wonderful to see pics of our newbies, too.
The wall of warmth looks amazing, but no doubt it will soon disappear when the weather begins to turn cooler again.....gotta keep those needles clicking....note to self to put handwarmers at the top of my to do list. :))
Maybe the rabbit is the 'keeper of the squares', Amy.......lol.
So great to see the pictures of the team! Thank you so much for sharing :)
WENDY REPORTS :
Well, in true builder's style, the new Bryanston Post Office was not ready
for occupation today - the staff are hoping to move across tomorrow. There
were only 7 parcels to collect today so I asked the volunteers to leave the
small pile of mail and to concentrate on tidying up the office. Attached
are a few photos I took.
The yarn all sorted by colour which makes it easier to pack for the gogo groups when we send it
The general buzz around the office !
Neat and tidy - yes, I do like everything to be in its place
Tops and hats all sorted by size and boxes of navy scarves and toys in the background. The small pile of mail is stacked at the back on the right
The volunteers rolled and packed all these today as well as more on the other set of shelves
The large shelves are full!
Neat piles of blanket packs and rolled blanket bundles for distribution. We have stacked blankets in the white shelves because we have run out of space on the large shelves
I am thrilled! I am quite sure I can see the labeled yarn I sent for Gogos. It means one of my parcels finally arrived at KAS.
WENDY HAS MENTIONED THAT THEY HAVE NO HAND-WARMERS LEFT AND REALLY NEED THEM!
ALSO THEY HAVE PLENTY OF SMALL OR LARGE BEANIES, BUT COULD DO WITH SOME MEDIUM SIZED!
Ok I will knit some hand warmers.Thank you for the fabulous photos.
Hopefully some of my parcels will have or will be arriving soon and there are multiple pairs of hand warmers in all my recent ones, (should help replenish the hand warmer stock pile).
Also, can we get a bit better idea of 'medium' size for beanies? Most of mine measure 22 inches finished (is that considered medium or large)?
Lovely to see so many colourful blanket packs ready for distribution.
Great pics. :))
Handwarmers are on the list. :))
Have caboodles (LOTS) of acrylic mohair yarn plus heaps of left over sock yarn, and I think they would be a good thickness(as in not very thick) if two strands are knitted together. Will catch up with Ros and see what 'we' can do. :))
Thanks Bev, those hand-warmers are such a boon for the kids!
