Hi Everyone.

New Year - New (updated) Discussion.

To simplify things (and for me 'simple' is ALWAYS better...lol) we have decided to combine two of your favourite discussions: Yarn-aholics Therapy and Anyone Feel Like A Chat? We thank Jeni (Harrison's Mum) and Kalai for initiating these wonderful avenues for sharing, which will be archived and still available for reading and reminiscing.

I know I've laughed, cried and commiserated with many of you over the years and so it is my pleasure to offer you this opportunity to continue to share with your friends in 'Share A Yarn?'

Who doesn't love to share a yarn?...Well, I probably prefer to share a yarn (tale) than share a yarn (my stash)...lol.

So all you lovely folk, let's keep things humming along.....well maybe 'humming' is not a good word to use in my case. I recently learned from my hubby that he doesn't like my humming...only took him almost 32 years to tell me.....but I think it may also have taken him 31+ years to work out WHY I hum. When I'm happy, I tend to sing (or la, la, la, as I never know all the words to a song)....but when I'm tired (I think to keep myself awake) irritated or just plain CROSS, I hum.....LOL.

There you go...there's my first 'yarn to share'.

I look forward to seeing and/or reading yours...please share....you are among friends.  :))

We have a smattering of snow here in the middle of Canada.  I was just thinking of the kids and how they still so much need our sweaters, hats, blankets, hand warmers and vests! :)

While it's not my style I did have to laugh when somebody on a crochet site I frequent got this shirt in the mail for their birthday.

And oh did I laugh over the lady who works part time as a waitress to pay some extra bills and parttime she crochets, and her husband said she could use all her tip money to buy yarn.  (I like him already!)  Well she went to Hobby Lobby with $40 in $1 bills, scooped up a bunch of yarn and began to count it out at the cashier station and the cashier was wondering why she was paying that way and she said, "Oh I'm a part time happy hooker."  The cashier did not realize she meant crocheting!!!

Ooooh I wish that were true in my case, lol.  With me it would be "the blind leading the blind", hahahaha.  It's just sometimes I'll think I've read a pattern and then I find out I didn't; well I missed a bit or thought they meant one thing when they meant another.  Ah the adventure of diving into someone else's pattern. :)

On Facebook I am a member of a group called The Crochet Crowd and their instructor, Mikey, came up with 11 pointers for teaching kids and I thought I would leave the page link here if anyone is going to be teaching kids or teens anytime soon.    I found it quite informative.

CREATECARE GLOBAL

"CreateCare Global has set itself two tasks. The first is physical: to bring hope, support and comfort to children for whom poverty and loss are everyday tormentors. The second, and in our view equally important, is to spread the message to the world."

Our thanks to CreateCare Global for supporting the Square Circle Forum and helping to spread the wonderful work that KAS does.
