Hi Everyone.
New Year - New (updated) Discussion.
To simplify things (and for me 'simple' is ALWAYS better...lol) we have decided to combine two of your favourite discussions: Yarn-aholics Therapy and Anyone Feel Like A Chat? We thank Jeni (Harrison's Mum) and Kalai for initiating these wonderful avenues for sharing, which will be archived and still available for reading and reminiscing.
I know I've laughed, cried and commiserated with many of you over the years and so it is my pleasure to offer you this opportunity to continue to share with your friends in 'Share A Yarn?'
Who doesn't love to share a yarn?...Well, I probably prefer to share a yarn (tale) than share a yarn (my stash)...lol.
So all you lovely folk, let's keep things humming along.....well maybe 'humming' is not a good word to use in my case. I recently learned from my hubby that he doesn't like my humming...only took him almost 32 years to tell me.....but I think it may also have taken him 31+ years to work out WHY I hum. When I'm happy, I tend to sing (or la, la, la, as I never know all the words to a song)....but when I'm tired (I think to keep myself awake) irritated or just plain CROSS, I hum.....LOL.
There you go...there's my first 'yarn to share'.
I look forward to seeing and/or reading yours...please share....you are among friends. :))

Now that is funny! I love the purple color, so rich looking.
This article on procrastination isn't filled with ways to not do it or how to cure it, it's filled with explanations of why it occurs and how and it's amusing and very thought provoking. The t shirts he offers at the end...definitely something to think about for my two "procrastinating until I panic" daughters. My husband isn't the same, he says he just needs a starter motor. Which is true, once he actually starts something he steamrollers through it like a late night express train. I wonder if there are t shirts with starter motors on them? LOL

Hello everyone,
It's good to be back! :)
Been away from knitting for about a year but recently picked up an unfinished project and now the
knitting fever is back again.
But I was wondering.. last time I was here there was a temporary stop on hats because they had to many at that moment. Does anyone know how that is at the moment? I tried to see if I could find anything about it on the forum but couldn't
Hi Mary
Welcome back. We are accepting hats again but we are suggesting that members send hats in the ratio of 1 hat for every 35 squares so that things will be kept in balance.
Wow Mary! Surely it hasn't been a year....now I know time really does fly.
Alright, then I'll stay calm on making hats :P
Am looking into making toys with knitting looms at the moment.
Speaking of toys, does anyone know by any chance a loom knitting pattern for a seagull?
There are charts here that could be used I imagine for loom knitting, Tunisian crochet, cross stitch over a plain crocheted or knitted background .... many uses and yes there is a seagull or two among this lot!
http://www.pinterest.com/astridjohanne/pattern-chart-animals/ The chart is from Russian page even though the original looks like it was French! Ah the joys of the worldwide web.
Snow is finally staying on the ground here but not much of it, certainly nothing like the dump of it last year. However some things never change:
LOL Jeanne! AND extreme knitting and crocheting :)) xo
Right on Gloria! Nothing better than a comfy seat by the fire where one can look outdoors at the snow and stay snug under an afghan while knitting or crocheting, with a mug of coffee, tea or in my case, hot chocolate sitting nearby. That's MY idea of a great winter vacation! (oh and someone to serve me supper, hah hah)
THE BIG CUT
Maddie Murray decided to donate almost 10" of her locks to be made into a wig for a Cancer victim. She chose the Pantene Shampoo company because they make the wigs and donate them free to people who could not otherwise afford to buy them.
Pantene suggests that asking a Cancer survivor to "make the cut" is a good idea, so grannie Anne Powell volunteered to do the deed...... with pruning shears no less, and a diabolical look in her eye!!! Actually we resorted to scissors in the end and Maddie looks great with her new hairdo.
