I thought that those of you who are like me and tend to forget that they put the potatoes on to cook an hour ago and just picked up that unfinished square to pass the time while waiting for the poatoes to be ready!!!!

LOLOLOL....thanks for a GREAT laugh, Valerie!!! Yes, I know the story.....I tend to sit down to knit, fall asleep and wake up to the smell of well cooked food. :)) I think my saucepan shrieks when it knows I am going to be boiling potatoes....lol.

I think this is a family myth perpetuated by my dear sister to get out of cooking for the rest of us at family gatherings!! None of us have actually tasted her food so we don't really know if it's burnt or not!! (And we're not going to find out are we!!) Lol!!!

Not fair!!! I usually get asked if I want to bring salads or desserts (or chickens, that I buy already cooked....lol) and that suits me fine.....can't burn them!!!!!.....lol.

Well, it is rather intimidating to have three (older) sisters who are such great cooks!!! xx

With me it was my mum who was a great cook. Then I married into a family, French at that!, with a brother -in-law who was a professional chef, a father-in-law who was a tremendous cook and a mother-in-law who's no slouch either. Hub's a wonder in the kitchen and daughter is also excellent. I do NOT stand a chance.....except with the Christmas turkey, roast leg of lamb and desserts.
