NATURE'S BEAUTY
I'd like us this month to get back to nature. The beauty of the seasons, landscapes and the animals on our Earth are around us all.
There is so much we can look to, and inspire the children with, in our knitting and crocheting. The marvels of creation are superb and can be defty applied and represented in our makes as they are made of such variety and colour.
8" squares, hats, hand-warmers and completed blankets are all encouraged for us to craft.
Our colour of the month is GREEN
Here's a lovely song which I feel is pretty apt for this theme:

WOW! What a fabulous photo, Chris. Don't know where you found it, but it is definitely worth keeping. Wouldn't you love to have that in your garden?
I loved it when I saw it, and I can dream that it’s in my garden!
I love that you've used the Mosaic Granny Square pattern again, Sharon - a super addition.
Yes, Patricia, I am a real fan of that pattern. Easy to do and makes such a great texture square. But I always think of them as Patricia Squares!
I agree with Karen. It´s a work of art!!! Sharon, I love the combination of colours you used! It´s gorgeous!
When I was in Nova Scotia in June, Gloria took me to the the infamous Michael’s craft store, and there we found in the clearance baskets this pretty merino variegated yarn at a quarter of it’s usual price :) Then Glo found the merino lilac, which I hoped would help make the yarn ‘stretch’ to a blanket. I made the blanket in strips, the first variegated strip was made in Canada and since returning progress has been very slow for a variety of reasons. I weighed the variegated and lilac to work out how many strips I could make, thankfully it made the 7 needed, with help from some aran pink to crochet the strips together and create the border.
Thank you Glo and Don for my visit to Michael’s xx
The colours in this made me think of hydrangeas……
Apologies for the cropped photo, I couldn’t use my step to stand on!
A fabulous blanket, Chris. Don't you love a yarn bargain big? And won't the children love this warm and soft and colorful blanket. You and Glo made a great team.
Lovely back story to this beautiful creation Chris! Where there is a will, there is a way. Thanks for posting + Congratulations on your terrific bargain buy ❤️
This blanket is SO pretty, Chris!! LOVE the colours.....and the design :))
When I first saw it (without reading the poster's name) I thought it was a 'Sharon' blanket.....from when Sharon was making blankets that had long and short rectangled 'squares' intertwined. :))
You and Glo did well !! It is always such fun to go yarn shopping with a fellow yarn shopper, but even more special when shopping with a KASsister, I'm sure. :))
A good idea to work in strips for a change, Chris. I believe you said this was initially because of the heat, but it's given the blanket a completely different look. Gorgeous colours.
Chris, I love both. Your hydrangea and a matching blanket. It was a very clever idea to make stripes like these.
