COLOUR MEMORIES

We all remember in colour but a lot of the time we don't realise it.    We only tend to notice colour in our memories when it is particularly striking.

Some examples of this theory may be: .....the colour of your first winter coat as a child, ....the colour of the first car you ever bought, ....the colour you chose to paint your front door,....the colourful flowers in a wedding bouquet,...or the colour lipstick your Mother always wore.

Charities are synonymous with colour too - a pink ribbon for breast cancer, the yellow daffodil for Marie Curie, or the red poppy for Remembrance and Hope for our Armed Forces to name just a few.    It could be that a charity has a poignant meaning to you which you would like to express.

What is your favourite colour....and why?

Which colours make you feel happy, relaxed, emotional or excited?

Where is your happy place, and what colour do you associate with the calm you find there?

Alternatively you could take a look through your stash and see which colour grabs attention and makes you think of a certain object, person, place, item of food etc.

I'd love to invite you to express yourself in colour in your crafting, and tell us a little about why, when, who or what this colour means to you personally.........

Please note too that the Colour of the Month for September is Grey

8" squares, hats, handwarmers, blankets and hand-hold size toys are all encouraged to make and send to our needy children in South Africa.

Happy Crafting!

Colour Memories

Sweet Peas, I think the colours are a good representation, the blanket is knitted in Waffle Weave.

I remember the lovely Sweet Peas that mum used to grow up the trellis at our first home.

Since being back in Adelaide I have grown them a couple of times on my back fence, this year I have also tried a hanging basket.  It's the first day of spring today, so I'm hoping they flower soon.

Beautiful!! I love sweetpeas too, and used to grown them up the garden fence when I was a child.

I love Sweet Peas very much too esp. their fragnance and your blanket is beautiful.

lovely colour combo.

Very much sweet peas.  Mum always had a large bunch out of her garden on the dining table in a charming vase in the shape of a little house with mice peeping out.

What a joyous contribution.    I can almost smell the floral scent.   Thank you for such a cheerful and cosy looking creation.    Waffle weave sounds good enough to eat too - tee-hee!

A beautiful addition to the blanket garden.   I love the variegated green "foliage" border.

A beautiful reminder of Sweet Peas, they are one of my favourite flowers, for both their fragrance and colours :))

The border really adds something special to this blanket, Sandra.

GLORIOUS colours in your blanket, Sandra.  :))

My Grandma used to grow sweet peas on a trellis, too. I loved all the beautiful colours and perfume.

I learn so much in this gallery. The weave you selected makes the border look grassy, around the colors. I need to learn this Karen  and try in the future.
