LOST CHILDHOOD by Eileen Fletcher

Last evening I gave a talk to a local machine knitting group, using a vido I'd created - about the orphans and KAS.

I then posted it on YouTube:- http://youtu.be/hgPcGIT3n6A

I also posted a link on my Wokingham Wool Aid web site:- http://woolaid.wordpress.com

It's less than 3 mins long - but it's had some very positive responses

    • Beautiful Eileen !

  • Brilliant, Eileen!  I'm going to share it with everyone

    • Thank you,  Maria - for such encouragement  (though what I've done is just a tiny, tiny 'drop in the ocean' compared to what so many at KAS have done and are doing)

You might like to know that I've now put the video itself on my dropbox so that anyone who would like to can download and use it on their own computers (without the need for access to the internet). Apparently it works fine on both Apple Mac and PCs:- https://www.dropbox.com/sh/l1gablepad2cpb0/mbLe_JWP_G

      kindest regards - Eileen

  • I thought I was past being moved by images - after 4 years with Knit a Square we all know the plight of the children so well and we are faced daily with pictures of poverty and distress.

But this powerful combination of simple text, strong images and the music moved me to tears once again.  I have shared it on Facebook and hope it will spread out far and wide.

I'm sure anyone who sees it will re-double their efforts to make a difference - thank you so much Eileen.

  • Absolutely beautiful and stunning Eileen!  I am so moved and I am praying that it will go completely viral, bringing many, many more to our cause!  Thank you for taking such initiative in creating this.....we who are part of this program all have a passion for KAS and the children we hope to serve.  This provides one more tool for each of us to reach out to those we know, in the hopes of spreading the passion we have for helping these children.  I have always felt that some people don't get involved, because it feels too overwhelming to them.  That is where Knit a Square has provided such an awesome opportunity for individuals to get involved and help!

Do you mind if those of us who blog periodically, post about your video and provide a link to it?  Thank you again and bless you!

    • Mary Anne, Eileen is absolutely fine with us sharing this wonderful video!  So don't hold back!

      • Hello Mary Anne - I'm so glad that Pam responded to your question. I've has so many lovely responses that I've been losing track of which I've responded to. Yes - I'm fine with anyone sharing the video link - more than fine - I'd be delighted.

In fact I've now put the video itself on my dropbox so that anyone who would like to can download and use it on their own computers (without the need for access to the internet). Apparently it works fine on both Apple Mac and PCs:- https://www.dropbox.com/sh/l1gablepad2cpb0/mbLe_JWP_G

And thank you for your kind words and prayers, Mary Anne (though what I've done is just a tiny, tiny 'drop in the ocean' compared to what so many at KAS have done and are doing)  I'm praying, too, that will be used as another means of touching hearts. kindest regards - Eileen

  • Eileen, you are extraordinary! This is the most beautiful video. You have captured everything we need people to know in three minutes with beautiful music and images. I am as Ronda has said, bowled over! I will be sharing your video with everyone I know. Thank you so very, very much!

  • What a wonderful video, Eilleen! Well done.

I have posted it on facebook and twitter!

    :-)
