Ronda and Wendy have been producing quite a catalogue of photographs from the recent distributions, rather than post them a few at a time, it was decided to create a discussion page where they could be displayed more speedily so that members might be able to spot their squares, garments or hats earlier!  Spotting one of our own creations in Africa really does spur as on to even greater creativity!

Here is one of the gorgeous children in a
'before' and 'after' photo!
Often one reads comments from members wishing they could do more, but the only thing we have to do, is exactly the amount of goodness that each of us has available from looking after our families etc.,  EVERY SQUARE  is so very valuable, and it does make a difference. KAS members have contributed an astonishing number of squares during the last 4 and half years - added together, we have brought comfort and warmth to thousands upon thousands of deprived, vulnerable, and, sadly often unwell children.  Below is a quote from one of the loveliest Africans to grace that continent - Bishop Desmond Tutu which really summarises everything the KAS Band of Sisters & Brothers do, day in day out, freely and without thought of self!  We knit & crochet to support these children totally unconditionally.

Thank you for posting the photos. I know it all takes effort so well done everyone.

Here are some of the photographs from the Big Smiles Day Centre distribution at Doornkop (Snake Park)  [Lots more to come.]:

How wonderful a saying is that and in KAS that is exactly what is going on , square by little bitty square adds up to a lot of wonderful warm and comforting blankets that give comfort to those dear children and familys who so much need a helping hand.. God bless every hand that takes up the needles and crochet hook, those who sew them up and those that distribute them and all those behind the scenes be it on the internet working to make others aware of the plight of these children , right down to the farmers who produce the wool to knit with.. every link in a chain of love.

You are spot on Elaine, we certainly need to remember the link, from source to reaching those little hands, in the chain of love. How kind.

Oh my goodness I love the first photo and the expression on that sad little girl in the third photo but after that there's just so many and I do love that one of the child in the red chair just staring at their blanket and white fluffy teddy.  What wonderful faces, what beautiful children!

So CUTE!  Love how they bundle of the blankets now.  I'm sure the ribbons could be reused.

More from Nancefield!

This lad spent most of his time watching everyone else - hopefully with all the toys he will eventually enjoy inter-acting with the other children.

Linda demonstrating the sand shells!

Ronda having fun with the children!

What a wonderful experience this must have been for both children and adults...lots of happy and awestruck faces.  .....makes one feel all warm and fuzzy inside.  :))

Thanks for posting the pics, Pam.  :))

Thank You so much for these photos ... everyone worked so hard, but look at the amazing things they have done!  IT just takes your breath to see the transformation of this space.    Some of these little ones have faces that show a depth of despair that is hard to even imagine, but others seem so bubbly and cheerful and instantly delighted with their new surroundings.

Great photos...such glee from those on the teetertotters and the motorbikes, such concentration in the sandboxes and block building areas, and coloring books too.  These children---what a priceless gift to be able to give them.  What a privilege to make a direct difference like this.

They all look so happy!  THANKS for sharing!

"CreateCare Global has set itself two tasks. The first is physical: to bring hope, support and comfort to children for whom poverty and loss are everyday tormentors. The second, and in our view equally important, is to spread the message to the world."

Our thanks to CreateCare Global for supporting the Square Circle Forum and helping to spread the wonderful work that KAS does.
