Ronda and Wendy have been producing quite a catalogue of photographs from the recent distributions, rather than post them a few at a time, it was decided to create a discussion page where they could be displayed more speedily so that members might be able to spot their squares, garments or hats earlier! Spotting one of our own creations in Africa really does spur as on to even greater creativity!

I agree. Heart tuggers indeed. The girl who never smiled....she may never have seen such kindness or generosity before, she may have learnt not to trust. I hope in future she can come to trust these wonderful people. I have to chuckle over Wendy seeming to attract little ones to take home. She would need a very big house I think!
These pics give me lots of stitching energy.
How I pray for them all. May our blankets, beanies and toys bring them some comfort and love. They desperately need it.
It does tug at the heart to see the sadness in some of the children's eyes and expressions. They are probably growing up much too soon having experienced much loss and deprivation at such a tender age. Makes me wish I could give them all a hug.
VUSELELA DISTRIBUTION - KAS SQUARE PACKS AND G4S DONATED SPORTS EQUIPMENT
18th June 2013
Sr Sato and Sr Eunice have many adults come to the centre for testing or counselling and they like to give these people, who are often very ill, something to keep busy with. Sewing blankets together is perfect.
The Red bags contain blanket packs and Blue bags hold the beanies (also when you see Yellow bags you will know they have the tops and Green bags are used for everything else!)
It was such fun being able to take sporting equipment to Vuselela. The children were at school when we visited, so we did not get to spend any time with them. We hope to go back at some point with Zodwa Maphanga who plays table tennis for South Africa, and let her demonstrate to the children how to play and just spend some time with them.
Darrin from G4S and Sr Sato test the table!
Sr Sato, a lady of many talents!
From left to right - Darrin Hedley (G4S), Sr Eunice and Sr Sato (Vuselela) and Winston Juju (G4S)
It is such a crowd of people to receive blankets ! It looks as if a lovely day was had by all !
The boys from G4S seem to be having a blast, though Sister Sato's spirit just shines through, she's like a thousand watt lightbulb, God bless her. It seems G4S is having a blast, a ton of good outcomes not just for their prisoners but their staff, what with being around to deliver the KAS van, going on these distributions etc. I'm happy to see it, bless them. :)
I'm very glad to see Winston carrying a large bag of ping pong balls because if the kids play ping pong anything like I do, the balls will be flying all over the place, lol. No doubt regular infusions of more balls will be necessary. I can imagine the squeals of delight from the kids when they came in after school and saw the ping pong table.
Wow...makes me thankful for working at the daycare centre I am at. Ours is an old building with parts of it consisting of ( some crumbling) mud brick...but a palace in comparison to here. Having said that, this centre looks very well cared for despite obviously limited resources.
Such a sweet baby. :))
Ouch! It looks very clean - but oh so barren. Makes me want to send some grass, and colourful playground equipment as slip-ins!
Oh my goodness, I see 3 of my Hex sweaters and 4 of my Go-Overs. So nice to see them ON children!

"CreateCare Global has set itself two tasks. The first is physical: to bring hope, support and comfort to children for whom poverty and loss are everyday tormentors. The second, and in our view equally important, is to spread the message to the world."
Our thanks to CreateCare Global for supporting the Square Circle Forum and helping to spread the wonderful work that KAS does.
