Here are the pics from this weeks Report from South Africa - the area of Protea South where Kido's Educare Centre operates - it is not surprising to see so many sad faces amongst the children living in these conditions :

Oh my goodness, it is heartbreaking to think that anyone has to live like this.  How wonderful to think that KAS can, in some small way, bring some colour and comfort into the lives of a few children in this dismal place.

I agree.  I have posted a couple of these pictures on FaceBook to inspire others to perhaps help wherever they can and also to remind us how rich we are compared to some.

Now I see that what goes on in Randburg is really just a factory and warehousing activity. Its the distribution and intervention that makes it all worthwhile! But just like the body, all the parts are necessary and every square can make a difference! Just love the toys and so do the kids

Indeed. :)  And hunting for new toys on clearance and nearly new ones at yard sales is a lot of fun too.  I bought 17 at one school sale...all in mint condition!

Without the loving hands and feet of our tireless volunteers in South Africa we'd be standing over here yearning to help but not having a way to do it, which is how I felt for several years before finding KAS.

Photographs from the distribution to Kido's Educare Centre - the toddler group!

During the school holidays some of the older brothers and sisters do come along to the Creche with their toddler siblings!

First time in a long time that we see some babies and toddlers.  The faces just say it all.

Yes they do.  Pictures are worth a thousand words.  I love seeing the hats on the kids and looking at their threadbare clothing and knowing winter is coming in South Africa I've got to get more crocheting and knitting done today!

Thanks Pam for sharing another lovely collection from this distribution.... whenever I see photos like this I feel I want to go and start knitting another garment... good to see so many wearing the Grace Vest pattern too.

I agree Grace and thank YOU for sharing such a super pattern with us....they are so quick to work up and they keep vital body warmth in for the children.  A Grace Vest might make the difference between a child getting over a cold or it worsening into bronchitis or something worse.

CREATECARE GLOBAL

"CreateCare Global has set itself two tasks. The first is physical: to bring hope, support and comfort to children for whom poverty and loss are everyday tormentors. The second, and in our view equally important, is to spread the message to the world."

Our thanks to CreateCare Global for supporting the Square Circle Forum and helping to spread the wonderful work that KAS does.
