Ronda and Wendy continue to bring us wonderful photographs of the children receiving their blankets, hats and garments. Along with many story snippets of their experiences at the variations places.  These photographs not only confirm to the world that by taking direct action our members are making a difference

oh Valerie ! wrap up warm. Get a flask! and good luck!

Valerie, Good Luck with your fundraiser!  Outdoor events are always so iffy.  Dress warm, carry an umbrella, enlist lots of help,  and sell oodles and oodles of stuff! xo

Thank you for your good thoughts. Today, of course , is really sunny if a little chilly. But, they've forecast very heavy rain for tomorrow.

I think you may be getting the rain tomorrow that we've had today Valerie.  I do hope you don't get too wet or too cold.  Lots of warm clothes and hot drinks!

Goodies sent from Knit-a-Square to the people of Kya Sands with love ... after devastating shack fires this week coupled with a sudden drop in temperature. Kya Sands is an informal settlement in a suburb of Johannesburg.

A few pics from the aftermath of this situation from the Lonehill Residents Association :

Thank you for sharing, Pam.  My heart aches for these people.  Thank Heaven for KAS!

So glad to see that KAS can come to the rescue, even in a small way, when these situations arise.

Thank you Pam for sharing photos. It's hard to imagine how difficult life really is for families in these awful situations.

Thank you Pam, how heartbreaking ! I am so glad KAS was able to step up.

Agree with all the other comments here glad to see that KAS was able to help these poor people.  Good to see though that it looks like a lot of items were able to be 'rescued' before they were destroyed.

I can't imagine how devastating it would be to lose everything you have and not have any money or insurance with which to replace it.

Agreed and now the temperatures have dropped and what do they have to shelter themselves with.  I'm so glad we can do at least a few things for them!

CREATECARE GLOBAL

"CreateCare Global has set itself two tasks. The first is physical: to bring hope, support and comfort to children for whom poverty and loss are everyday tormentors. The second, and in our view equally important, is to spread the message to the world."

Our thanks to CreateCare Global for supporting the Square Circle Forum and helping to spread the wonderful work that KAS does.
