Knit a Square moved into what we loving call The Barn in 2015.  It is located in Randburg, not far from our post office.  This is a very large space that allows us to sort all the post, make blanket packs, stack blankets, and most important create our wonderful KAS cakes.  Our volunteers show up on Tuesday morning around 9:00am and work their magic until about 3:00pm.  Themba has already collected the post, and often times will make a distribution on Tuesdays.

Please know that the Barn is a success due to all our contributors, financial donors and volunteers.  Without your ongoing support we would find it difficult to carry on.

Thank you all for everything.

Check in to this discussion frequently to see the latest news and photos from The Barn.  Many thanks to our marvelous reporter, Estelle for bringing the fun of The Barn to us.

Thank you so much for this report, what a stunning blankets and squares! A big thank you to the Gogos for stitching the squares into beautiful blankets!

The postal gods must have read my message last week - I spotted the corner of another of my blankets in one of the photos so that's 3 parcels opened this week containing 5 blankets plus some squares. Phew!

So much lovely colour! I think the Christmas blanket is just as gorgeous as Liz does!

Good to see another of my parcels has arrived too.

Great work everyone!

Here are the photos from The Barn on November 22.
Estelle was out most of  the day, so Ronda was our photojournalist for the day.
Thanks to everyone who has sent parcels - it’s been a busy patch although today we actually opened all the post finally … and hope for another large number of parcels to be at the PO for collection by our trusty and VERY hard working Bernard … before next Tues 29th.
Sheldon is peeking around some very thick and cozy squares.
Bundles ready to go out to the Gogos for assembly.
Each bag holds enough squares for 9 blankets.

Liz is busy sorting squares after opening parcels.

Thank you Ronda for keeping us updated on all The Barn activities.

The barn always looks like a busy and happy place.   And who wouldn't be happy when they get to unpack 26 fantastic Santa toys?   So cute!

I love all the cute crochet toys, someone is very talented!

Lots of pretty colours and patterns in the squares too.

What an opening day!!    ALL the crocheted toys are out of this world.   Mega kudos and Thank You Team Xx

Our birthday girl Estelle has brought us a very colorful report from November 29.

Two more stunning blankets from Sunel Botes.

I love seeing what arrives in the barn.  Well done to all the contributors from around the world and the volunteers in South Africa.

i'm hoping with fingers crossed that the pink bag in the foreground might be the parcel I sent October last year.

The elephants are from my mother and the triangular blanket from me! Thrilled to see they have come through!

Thanks for letting us know Mary.  We love it when our contributors can spot their items when they are in the Barn or in a distribution.

Mary we absolutely loved the way your mum dressed those Ellie’s, thanks for your fabulous blanket.
