Knit a Square moved into what we loving call The Barn in 2015.  It is located in Randburg, not far from our post office.  This is a very large space that allows us to sort all the post, make blanket packs, stack blankets, and most important create our wonderful KAS cakes.  Our volunteers show up on Tuesday morning around 9:00am and work their magic until about 3:00pm.  Themba has already collected the post, and often times will make a distribution on Tuesdays.

Please know that the Barn is a success due to all our contributors, financial donors and volunteers.  Without your ongoing support we would find it difficult to carry on.

Thank you all for everything.

Check in to this discussion frequently to see the latest news and photos from The Barn.  Many thanks to our marvelous reporter, Estelle for bringing the fun of The Barn to us.

Oh I love this information.     Well done and Thank You Joyce !!! ♥️

Amazing work, Joyce. It's lovely to hear about KAS's unsung heroes.

Ronda has sent us this information regarding the walker.  Thank you for clarifying.

Firstly, Vivienne mentioned her very elderly friend Mrs. Matabane of 96 years
old, who has been battling to get around for some time now.  She was using a
single crutch, but then burnt her wrist somehow and that made it very
difficult for her to control the crutch.  This old manual "walker" has been
in the Barn for years - so we were delighted when Viv swooped down on it
with glee and claimed it for Mrs. Matabane.  It has obviously been waiting
and waiting for exactly the right moment !

What a relief!  Double good.   Vivienne doesn't need it for herself, and it is going where it will be very useful!   We love a happy ending.

Just saying “Hi” from the USA. I’m so pleased to be a part of this wonderful group!
Many blessings on you and your families.
More bundles on the way!

Lovely it hear from you Sharen.

Better late than never...

Woawh, well done everyone!!     What a variety of colours, designs,  blankets + toys you've dealt with.    Thanks very much for picturing + posting these joyous scenes with us Xx

Delighted to see two of my blankets here but ... these were two of the most recent parcels I've sent. I still have several parcels outstanding from earlier in the year and am still hoping they're at the bottom of a pile somewhere. Ada's squares are amazing!

Thank you for your kind words Estelle! I am glad that my parcel arrived after 3 months.

Ada, your toys and squares are wonderful!   The children will be so happy to have them.   For myself, I can't stop smiling at them.

Looks like it was a very happy day at the barn with so many beautiful things arriving.
