Knit a Square moved into what we loving call The Barn in 2015. It is located in Randburg, not far from our post office. This is a very large space that allows us to sort all the post, make blanket packs, stack blankets, and most important create our wonderful KAS cakes. Our volunteers show up on Tuesday morning around 9:00am and work their magic until about 3:00pm. Themba has already collected the post, and often times will make a distribution on Tuesdays.
Please know that the Barn is a success due to all our contributors, financial donors and volunteers. Without your ongoing support we would find it difficult to carry on.
Thank you all for everything.
Check in to this discussion frequently to see the latest news and photos from The Barn. Many thanks to our marvelous reporter, Estelle for bringing the fun of The Barn to us.

It was great to have so many people in The Barn for opening day 2022.
Here is Estelle's report extra photos from Ronda.
I forgot to mention that we received 88 blankets from the volunteers and the post on Tuesday. Not bad for our first day back!
Lovely to see a hive of activity in the barn again. So many pretty blankets, impossible to choose a favourite. Will look forward to seeing some of them in the blanket room soon.
What a wonderful start to 2022! It’s great to see folk back in the barn and so many many beautiful squares, blankets and toys :))
Thanks for the informative intro Amy. Now our new members will be able to see exactly what goes on in the barn and the fun we have.
Just shared this thread with the UK FB followers so they can see what happens to their squares once they are part of a blanket
Our latest installment from Estelle...
Thanks Estelle and Amy for another wonderful report from the barn. The teddies with their knitted outfits are so sweet and I love all the blanket designs.
The latest from Estelle and The Barn...
Thanks for sharing these pics Amy.
I love this! I'm so used to charitable organizations that take money or donations and you never hear from them again, so it can kind of feel like you didn't actually do anything? I love seeing real live photos of charity in action! Proof that people gave things that were received and that the things will be given out! <3 And I love how gorgeous everyone's contributions are, and how happy the people in the barn look. It warms my heart.
I only heard about this organization by chance in a crochet forum and I'm really excited to participate.
The Donate button provides 2 options:
Because of PayPal/banking fees, KAS asks that your donation be 5USD [or more]. Anything less, means your donation is eaten up with fees. Thank you!
Our goal is to remove the monthly deficit that Ronda and her team have to deal with. You can:
1. Make a donation whenever you are able.
2. Sign up for an ongoing monthly donation (subscription).
3. Shop at the KasShop!

"CreateCare Global has set itself two tasks. The first is physical: to bring hope, support and comfort to children for whom poverty and loss are everyday tormentors. The second, and in our view equally important, is to spread the message to the world."
Our thanks to CreateCare Global for supporting the Square Circle Forum and helping to spread the wonderful work that KAS does.
