EDUCATE ME

Can we try and spark some interest and conversation through our crafting this month to help the children learn....?

Letters, numbers, small words, colours, shapes, animals and nature are all superb ideas to stimulate their brains.

The designs, colours and ideas can all familiarise items, words and colours to aid their memories and make them feel clever and happy.

The colour of the month for our PJ's is BLUE

which is a great colour to represent water, the sea and sky in our work.

It has also recently been suggested that BLACK and WHITE squares are needed by the volunteers at The Barn In South Africa.I'm looking forward to seeing your imaginations run wild as you post any makes for us all to be inspired by too.......Hats, handwarmers, squares and blankets are what are really needed.

Happy crafting members, Karen xx

It's a pass from me, too!!

LOVING your white squares, Karen!!

Karen you have been amazing with your challenge and so thoughtful knitting a couple of white ones for our Christmas blankets. I’ve been watching your progress and loving all the beautiful patterns. I’m hopeless at knitting…plain and purl only but do enjoy crocheting. Well done.

A fabulous collection, Karen.   I really like the look of the tweedy squares, plain but not plain at all.

But, the Entrelac square is a real stunner.   I once tried to follow directions for knitted entrelac, but got totally frustrated, and gave up.   So you should win a prize for completing this square, which is beautiful.

(Crochet Entrelac, which Amy taught me, is really pretty easy, not at all like the knit entrelac that I attempted.)

Good on ya, girl!

Great patterns, Karen! Love your waffle square and of course the Entrelac is so pretty and looks so complicated.

Thank you -  it certainly took some concentration!

You are a knitting machine Karen!! More great squares :))

This month's colour is blue, so here are two blue PJs to fit this month's CoM.

However, these squares also fit the Educate Me theme.  Like Kiran's squares above, the colour of this yarn is also called 'Ocean'.  Mine is a Michaels brand - Craft Smart.  Also like Kiran, I had difficulty getting the colour to come out right.

I tried taking a pic with my phone and they looked dark blue.  Then I tried using my tablet, and they were a lighter 'dark' blue.  So then I used my hubby's tablet and believe it or not the colour is almost spot on!

Why do different cameras show such vastly different colours?  Can someone please educate me? ... xo

BLUE-TIFUL squares Gloria, thank you very much!

Can you send Don's tablet over please, Glo?......hahahaha.

That's a very pretty colour...hang on, did I just say that??.....hee hee.......I LOVE this pattern, such a lovely texture.

Haha Bev, I wish I could just pop over to your house for a cuppa.  I'd bring Don's tablet to you for sure!  However, there's no guarantee it would be having a good day and take honest pics.  There have been times that even his tablet couldn't tell the truth ... LOL  Somehow I think it depends on which colour we try to photograph ... xo

Oh I love this pattern and the colour Gloria.

Such pretty squares, Gloria.

Cameras?   UGH.   but, as we always say, the children will see them in true color for all the years that they have a blanket.
