EDUCATE ME

Can we try and spark some interest and conversation through our crafting this month to help the children learn....?

Letters, numbers, small words, colours, shapes, animals and nature are all superb ideas to stimulate their brains.

The designs, colours and ideas can all familiarise items, words and colours to aid their memories and make them feel clever and happy.

The colour of the month for our PJ's is BLUE

which is a great colour to represent water, the sea and sky in our work.

It has also recently been suggested that BLACK and WHITE squares are needed by the volunteers at The Barn In South Africa.I'm looking forward to seeing your imaginations run wild as you post any makes for us all to be inspired by too.......Hats, handwarmers, squares and blankets are what are really needed.

Happy crafting members, Karen xx

You are good, Bev!   It is all striped sections, but some of the yarns I used were variegated or self-striping.   Basically, it is two rows of Color A, then 2 of Color B, then 2 of Color C.   I was trying to use up some partial skeins, so used solids and variegated yarns.   I choose to have Color C the same all the way through (white), and did the colors in groups of 7 before switching to the next color combination.

So glad you like it.   Thanks, everyone for your positive comments.  Now on to the blanket that I had planned for this month, LOL!

What an achievement Sharon.   I'm very, very impressed at its originality.    You have a personal flair for quality X

Sharon, this came together so perfectly!  What a great design!  It resembles double row knitting technique (aka swing needle technique).  It's beautiful.

Never be concerned about which theme you post in.  They're all headed for the same place and when a child is wrapped in your gorgeous creation, they won't mind at all which theme it came from ... xo

Another wonderful original idea from you, Sharon.

What a super blanket Sharon, it is so vibrant, I love your design and the colours :))

Here I've made 10 garter stitch chunky pale blue squares,  5 teal DK squares (3 x Waffle, 2 x Diamond from the 35 squares booklet) and 3 garter stitch Plain black DK ones too.

Karen, these blues are luscious :))  You've turned this colour into some lovely textures and designs.  I love them all, but the diamond squares make me want to give the pattern a try ... xo

Great colours to 'backbone' a blanket or two, Karen!! LOVE the patterned ones....a little extra special.  :))

Wow I made exact same blue color squares and almost similar patterns too! although my picture shows a different shade ;)

A lovely selection of squares - very attractive

Beautiful squares, Karen, and so many!   You really know how to wield those rocket-powered needles!

Thanks Sharon,  this really made me smile ✔️♥️
