Can we try and spark some interest and conversation through our crafting this month to help the children learn....?
Letters, numbers, small words, colours, shapes, animals and nature are all superb ideas to stimulate their brains.
which is a great colour to represent water, the sea and sky in our work.
It has also recently been suggested that BLACK and WHITE squares are needed by the volunteers at The Barn In South Africa.I'm looking forward to seeing your imaginations run wild as you post any makes for us all to be inspired by too.......Hats, handwarmers, squares and blankets are what are really needed.
Happy crafting members, Karen xx

Leskey this blanket is gorgeous. This is my kind of project as it provides so much beauty and basically makes something from leftovers. The third benefit is the space you gain for more wool, tee-hee! Thank you ever so much ♥️
Wow! this is a winner! I love using up leftovers to create something warm and happy. The neon accents in the granny squares really make this pop, and the blue border is perfect to bring it all together. Well Done!
That’s a stunner Lesley.
Good to hear from you, Lesley. Beautiful blanket. Are you still in South Africa?
Thanks Patricia - yes I'm still in SA at the moment, but only for another ten days! I'll be arriving in the UK on 3rd April, to start a new chapter of my life. It's been a difficult and hectic few months, which is why I've not been on the forum much, but I'm so looking forward to being with family and friends again, and getting back into the swing of things!
I hope all goes smoothly for you, Lesley. The weather here is beautiful at the moment so with luck it will hold out to welcome you home.
Best wishes that everything goes smoothly for you. Such a big change is really exciting, but also a little stressful, so be sure to take care of yourself. All good thoughts heading your way!
A VERY pretty blanket, Lesley. The colours are blended so vibrantly together....LOVING the blue border. :))
I so admire everyone who makes such beautiful blankets from their 'scraps'. I just look at mine and bury them in a storage bag for 'another day'.
Wow!! Big move!! Wishing you all the best in your new abode.....my first thought is for all the yarn shops you will be able to visit....pace yourself.....hahaha. xo
Good luck with your up-and-coming upheaval Lesley. An exciting and very busy time ahead for you indeed! Are you coming back to Geordieland I wonder....??
Thanks Karen. Sad to say, I'm not coming back to the north east, I'm going to be living in Derbyshire to be close to my son and his family - not that that's sad, of course, but I'll miss being within reach of Durham, the Dales and the coast up there. I'll still be visiting my old home county, and perhaps there'll be the opportunity to meet with a KAS friend there ...... ?
Oh aye I'd be up for that hin! Just message me when you're up here visiting - I'd love that X
