Can we try and spark some interest and conversation through our crafting this month to help the children learn....?

Letters, numbers, small words, colours, shapes, animals and nature are all superb ideas to stimulate their brains.

The designs, colours and ideas can all familiarise items, words and colours to aid their memories and make them feel clever and happy.

The colour of the month for our PJ's is BLUE

which is a great colour to represent water, the sea and sky in our work.

It has also recently been suggested that BLACK and WHITE squares are needed by the volunteers at The Barn In South Africa.I'm looking forward to seeing your imaginations run wild as you post any makes for us all to be inspired by too.......Hats, handwarmers, squares and blankets are what are really needed.

Happy crafting members, Karen xx

Some more "ocean" blue squares, in diagnoal knitting, seed stitch, moss stitch, two different waffle stitches. And a couple of "cream" squares too (I didn't have white yarn at hand, so thought cream would do :))

Kiran and Karen, you must have some kind of psychic link to be working on such similar squares thousands of miles apart - and your names are so similar too!

yeah right? we are name buddies, and must be soul sisters... I am in California, US, where are you based Karen?

Ha ha, ha....   It has surprised me so far this month that so many of us have used the same shade of teal,  but for us to do such similar stitches too is hilarious.    I'm from Durham in the North East of England.

LOVING your variety of stitches, Kiran......great colours, too.   :))

Kiran, your squares are wonderful.   If you are going to be in sync with someone, there is no better choice than Karen!   Both of you do amazing work.

I saw this fabric map of the world for young children and thought that it might be a welcome addition for a creche wall. Its called ‘What a World’ and is full of information for little minds…

That looks amazing.   I think we'd all benefit in digesting some of this world information as adults, so I'm positive it would be great for young minds in South Africa - a fantastic find!

Who ever made this captured everything a child would love.  What a great way to learn about the work.

Great find Chris.

That’s incredible Chris…what a find!

What a find!   The whole creche will have fun every day, learning something new.   It's bright and colorful and has the most charming look to it.   You hit the jackpot with this.

That's amazing, Chris!!  Such a fun way to learn.  :))
