EDUCATE ME
Can we try and spark some interest and conversation through our crafting this month to help the children learn....?
Letters, numbers, small words, colours, shapes, animals and nature are all superb ideas to stimulate their brains.
The designs, colours and ideas can all familiarise items, words and colours to aid their
memories and make them feel clever and happy.
The colour of the month for our PJ's is BLUE
which is a great colour to represent water, the sea and sky in our work.
It has also recently been suggested that BLACK and WHITE squares are needed by the volunteers at The Barn In South Africa.I'm looking forward to seeing your imaginations run wild as you post any makes for us all to be inspired by too.......Hats, handwarmers, squares and blankets are what are really needed.
Happy crafting members, Karen xx

Good ol' Neil....they don't make 'em like him anymore. I will have this in my head all day. :))
Thank you Karen for your intro and hosting this month’s theme :))
Well done Chris this blanket is perfectly made. Love the colours and the symetrical design is very *you* X
I don't think many of us could rival Sandra's patience and skill, Chris, but it must have taken quite a bit of both to put this blanket together. Super design.
Who knew blue could look so good....haha. LOVING your colour choices, Chris....and the letters look great!! Good on you for getting them on so straight. Sewing appliques on sqs is the part I hate most.... often they end up either having a little lean or not being central to the square. Despite my pinning, they just seem to creep around as I sew them on...haha
That's a beautiful blanket and the raised felt letters give a great texture for the kids.
Chris, as always, you've come through with another stunner! What a great way to showcase the alphabet for the children :)) By the way, I LOVE your colours :)) ... xo
Oh how delicate Gloria, pure treasures, X
You really do have snow on your mind (and your front lawn....haha) Glo!!!
These are just what Estelle had in mind, I'm sure. Especially LOVING the pattern of the one on the left. Dare I suggest it is a TC honeycomb?
Bev, what a great guess! While it's not the Honeycomb, it is a very close relative :) That is the Smock stitch. There have been times I've done squares in both stitch patterns with the same yarn and I really have to study them to tell them apart. One big difference is the Smock stitch makes a slightly thicker fabric because you're working 2 stitches together throughout. I love both stitch patterns very much ... xo
