Both versions are great! I've made several of these, but have never once made it in all one color. Now I wonder why I didn't, because I'm loving your Almost-PJ-version. A Plain but not-so-plain square will look wonderful in a blanket.

For any of you considering giving mosaic a try, just a reminder to be careful of which colors you choose. Just because they're pretty and they go together well in your knitting basket doesn't mean they will do well in a mosaic piece ... as I discovered ... :(

Oh, but the colors are pretty, and they will look wonderful in a blanket. The children will see them without the interference of the camera. Beautiful squares, Gloria. I'd happily accept them.

I take your point, Gloria, but I was going to say the same as Sharon - a child will see the in pattern close up and be able to distinguish the delicate colours. Having said that, I adore the bottom one!

And regardless of the colours, they are warm squares. And as I've often said to others, when a child receives them in a blanket they won't be checking to see if the stitches are straight, the colours match, or the pattern is correct. They will be hugging themselves into a warm blanket that was made for them with love ... xo
