This July we are going to celebrate animals of all types and sizes. They can be on squares, be a blanket, be accents on handwarmers or beanies, and my favorite a toy. Can't wait to see what walks, flies, swims or squirms onto these pages.

What a cuties he is .... I love his little top knot! I can almost hear him laughing.
Thanks, everyone - he was fun to make, and I was pleased with the way the face turned out (always the difficult bit!) - that cheeky grin makes me respond in kind, so I hope it will have the same effect on a child.
(Don't know why this message is in the middle of the others - it should be at the end!)
And her hair knot is just the crowning cutest touch!
What an adorable little fellow. Lesley you have made the perfect little happy face that will make the children smile from ear to ear. Love the little tuft of hair at the top, too.
Great job!.
Totally agree with everyone, Lesley.....and that cute little tuft of hair is adorable!!!! :))
Remember back in May when Bev had lots of pictures in her introduction about learning?
And remember when one of those pictures was an elephant silhouetted against a sunset?
And remember that the elephant pattern was Linda Malby's, but the sunset idea was Gloria Grandy's?
Well, I just copied them. Here is my copycat version of that square.
Thanks, Bev, Linda, Gloria, and Amy for all the inspiration.
Well done, Sharon!!!! A SUPERB replica.......Are you sure this isn't the same square of Gloria's??......LOLOL.
LOL, Bev ... I recognize the blocking pins in the top edge!
I said this was Linda Malby's pattern (in Members Patterns), but it might actually be Anne Powell's pattern, posted by Linda .... Not entirely sure who gets the credit, and they both do so much that they both should get more and more and more credit. Either way, it was a great pattern, that Gloria took to a whole new level with the sunset.
Oh Sharon, what a beauty! A real treasure for a child to find in their blanket :))
LOL, Bev, this one is definitely not mine. Sharon has made a much nicer tail and the colors in her sunset are much brighter! And unless I'm very much mistaken, Sharon has used a heavier/thicker yarn for her cross stitch. The result is absolutely perfect! xo
Wow, oh WOW Sharon,
Word cannot describe how wonderful this square is. They children are going to love it and so are all the volunteers when they unpack this beauty. Great start to this month's theme. Bring on the animals.
