THEME FOR JUNE STITCHTASTIC STITCHES, STRIPES & ZIGZAGS !

lead by Pam Antink

As I do not knit very well, I'm going to have to cheat and fudge my way through the June Theme! For this purpose I've been trawling through all the pics on the Photo tab right back to the beginning.  It was a joy to view some of the photos! More from early contributors will be posted as the Theme progresses - hopefully to provide additional inspiration.

Do hope everyone enjoys our progress through the years and the reminders of the wonderful supporters who have contributed and still do!

Anyhow, please get ready for a daily

'Blast from the Past'

Anneke (The Netherlands) has helped me by knitting some lovely versions of Stitchtastic Stitches, Stripes and Zigzags to get the theme off the ground!

Diagonal Crochet Square

Below are some more inspiring members squares involving stitches, zigzags and stripes

Andrea Palmatier one of the few brave enough to tackle zigzags

Anne Powell - love this very strong example of a striped square - so effective!

Gloria Grandy - May's inspiring PJ Theme leader, has been largely instrumental in making the Tunisian Stitch very popular since she joined in April 2013!

Sunset

We have such beautiful sunsets here in South Dakota.

Here are some pics from the early years of Knit-a-Square :

This batch of 3 photographs from 2009 were all produced by Laurie Hake, indeed the diagonal is in fact a fully fledged blanket!

These squares came from Carmen Blom, who had challenged herself to produce an array of stripes!

These lovely stripes came from Belinda Robson in 2010

Yarn Eater

Catherine's Wheel.  This pattern uses a LOT of yarn.

Bit late doing my post today, had to go out earlier and the weather is so dismal today I had a lot of trouble trying to 'capture' the squares true to colour.  Anyway, both squares today feature zig zag patterns, the pink one is a vertictal pattern and the green is horizontal.  I love both the patterns and the colours in these 2 squares.

Four very bright pink and green squares, but I couldn't get the colours right in photo!  Both Anne P and Wendy have recently posted stitchtasic squares in these colours, obviously a popular combo!

My latest square, with a lovely variegated wool I bought on my city trip

Starburst

Here are some more squares created in 2013 and 2014 :

Lisa Marie produce these variable squares - One is the Yellow Slip Stitch Knitted Square and the pink is XOXO Honeycomb Cable [link : http://www.craftcookie.com/knitting-stitches/cable-twist-stitches/1...]

This is a lovely clutch of stripes and diagonal stripes from Chris McEachern

Two from SharonB - going through her photo file, one can see such a variety !

A few more stripes!

A very pink KAS cuddle with soft textured stripes.

STAGGERED BARS SQUARE

I recently received a square from one of my knitters using this pattern. After a bit of fiddling, I have worked out the pattern to suit worsted weight yarn and 5 mm needles. It is very simple but fun to do.

You can find it in Members' Patterns - Squares here
