Patricia, your c2c blanket are always so beautifuly made and the colours chosen with care. I love your blanket very much.
Beautiful, Patricia! The blue/yellow/orange combo is stunning and your C2C is always so neat ... xo
I found this pattern called It's Gonna Be A Good Day just after Patricia posted her Day and Night theme. I thought it would make a good KAS Blanket, although I did it in Tunisian Simple Stitch rather that the split half-double that the pattern called for. I think it must have been inspired by the same thinking as Patricia's Dawn to Dusk pattern, using much of the same color combination.
Wowzers Sharon - such a dreamy colour palette + your crafting is ssssoo neat!
You so often come out of left field with your contributions, Sharon - hark at me with my American slang! (I actually know the expression from the Percy Sledge song of the same name - a singer I've loved for 50 years). A fantastic blanket.
We can trade slang, Patricia! I've never heard the expression "hark at me" before. Ha Ha ... especially when living in Australia, I frequently found that we were "divided by a common language".
I think the "out of left field" is a baseball reference, but since I have never followed baseball (or any other sport) I only know it from other people's use, and it is certainly a common reference here in the States.
Now I must go find the Percy Sledge song, and will probably have it running through my head all day.
A few months back I was contacted, through Ancestry, by a man in Edinburgh, who said he thought we had some "rellies" in common. I was really surprised at the expression as I only knew that abbreviation from Australian TV shows. Anyway, it turned out he was born in Australia so my initial instincts were correct! (He also turned out to be my 4th cousin once removed).
Isn't it amazing how small the world really is? We have an unusual last name, but one that is quite common to German immigrant families, large farm families. We occasionally get phone calls from people who share the last name, wondering if we are their relatives. So far, we have found no ancestors in common.
Also, when we traveled for a few days in Germany, I asked people if the name was common there. They all said they had never heard it! I guess everyone with the name came to the US.
Wow!! What a BEAUTY, Sharon!! LOVE the design and colours. :))
Thanks to all of you for your kind comments. I can verify that the blanket is warm!
Sharon, you were lucky to find such an interesting design for your blanket. I saw something a bit similar but with beads / I guess it was a pullover /. Great work!
Sharon, this is fabulous!! What a wonderful gift for a precious child to wrap up in on a cold night. TC is so warm, and your work is, as usual, perfect. I love this and it's a colour combo that I believe both Bev and I can agree to love ... hahaha ... xo
