I recently broke my arm and am unable to knit, but I taught myself to crochet,  In looking for patterns to make dishcloths, I came across KAS.  I clicked, I joined, I wondered what I got into.  Best "mistake" I've made in years.  I am excited about making the squares when I'm tired of working on a big project.  The squares are great as take-along projects.  I belong to two knitting groups and will spread the word.  I want to thank all those who welcomed me so warmly.  It is you who told me to not turn away and instead, embrace this project.  Thank you all.  I am excited to get going.         Your new friend, Paula

  • Hi Paula.  Glad you joined us.  KAS is a wonderful group.  You know what they say, when one door closes, another door opens.  I guess you were meant to learn another skill and find KAS!  Happy crocheting!  :-)

  • Love the serendipity !  Not your broken arm, mind you, but finding KAS.

Looking forward to photos of your squares.

  • We're so glad you have joined us, Paula. Sorry to hear about your arm - but maybe by the time you CAN knit again, youll be so 'hooked' on crochet, you won't even care.

  • I am glad you found us Paula :) I find it is much faster to crochet squares than knitting them :) if you check our challenges, it is absolutely amazing how creative you can become on a 20cm square and all this for a good cause :)

  • Glad you found us too! Sorry you hurt your arm, though. Have fun crocheting your squares!
  • We also welcome your 'mistake' Paula, and, perhaps your 'mistake' guided you here!  However, breaking your arm was not much fun, but you have turned into an 'opportunity' to learn & develop new skills - crocheting.  That is the kind of energy we need here! Please do spread-the-word amongst your knitting groups - team-working is great for KAS!
