just new to all this am looking forward to being able to help do i just knit a heap of squares or do you need hats and scarves as well, i'm teaching my self how to crochet bit slow but then practice makes perfect i'm in awe of some of the designs these very talented ladies .

Don't worry, we were all newbies once. :)) You may like to check out our welcome message on the main page (the tab for this is located at the top of this page). There you will find lots of helpful tips and info. Any other questions, please ask....we love to help each other out where possible.
Squares are always our main priority, but beanies and other items are most welcome, too. If you click on the 'forum' tab at the top of this page it should take you to the discussion, "KAS Wishlist for 2012" and this might give you a few more ideas of what is most needed.

Hats, squares, vests, and sweaters are mostly needed. They haven't asked for scarves. Crocheting goes faster than knitting once you get the hang of it but takes more yarn than knitting.
