At the end of July Estelle put out this post to Karen Gordon...
Karen I remember opening a box of approximately 50 pairs of hand warmers from you. If you have any more small balls of yarn we’d love some hand warmers from our star knitter….we have suddenly run out of them.
Several of us jumped on board and said we would like to help out, too.
Please join us with the challenge to
MAKE 500 HAND-WARMERS
FOR KAS
The Barn is currently out of hand-warmers and our volunteers are making distributions without them.
With the current issues with post arriving to The Barn we need to restock our supply of hand-warmers.
Every year KAS tries to distribute 5,000 blankets to children. These need hand-warmers to go with them.
Included in this introduction are some hand-warmers that have been posted by member since Estelle's request.
We are adding them to our total.
Let's color in our hands to reach 500 pairs of HAND-WARMERS made for the children.
TOTAL - 500+
Thank you everyone...WE DID IT!
Way to Go Team KAS!
You can post a photo or just let us know how
many you will be posting to South Africa.

Moi aussi j'admire beaucoup le travail de Karla et de tant d'autres tricoteuses.
Sharon pouvez-vous m'expliquer comment ajouter des photos : tous mes essais sont infructueux. Merci de m'aider
I think this is what Mireille wrote:
I also greatly admire the work of Karla and so many other knitters. Sharon can you explain how to add photos: all my attempts are unsuccessful. Thank you for helping me
Mireille, I only add photos from a windows-based computer, so only a little help here. But, this is how I do it...
When you click the reply button, you get an inset box. In the gray header of that box, the very top line is a series of boxes. The 2nd (from the left) box is IMAGE. Click on that box, and you will get an inset screen. Click on the button marked "Chose File", and you will be able to go to the location on your computer where your pictures are stored. When you get to the picture you want to add, click the button to Open, and that picture will be active and ready to post. You can also choose where on the screen you want your picture to appear, the size, etc. You can ignore those options if you want, or you can select things. I usually only select size, about 500 pixels. Then hit the Okay button, and your picture should appear in your reply box.
If anyone else has other (or better) information to add, please do. I've never added a picture from a phone, so someone who does that might be more help.
Good luck, Mireille. We are anxious to see your photos, but keep on knitting.
Merci beaucoup Sharon pour toutes ces informations
You are very welcome. I saw that you added pictures to the Photos tab, so I think you had already figured it out.
How original, and very clever Karla X
Fabulous collection as usual Wendy.
Wish I could get my hands on some of that blue green variegated yarn. Simply wonderful.
Beautiful X
Your variegated and striped yarns look terrific, Amy.
I am knitting like mad here for gifts for family and for youngsters whose parents are struggling here in my town. I do indeed intend to get some wrist warmers made and sent off. Sadly my Mum who is usually my partner in crime where knitting is concerned has injured her knee somehow - she needs an MRI scan to work out what is happening and whether she needs. new knee or not, All of which means she simply cannot concentrate to knit for the pain. However, I will start to get wrist warmers made very soon......., very soon............
