here are photos of my mother and my son, last sunday. She wanted him to help untangle some wool. He was really wanting to run away, but didn't dare disobey my mother ! "it itches !", "I'm bored, I might die !", "is this going to last any longer ?", was what could be heard … and much more. I can tell you the moment she finished and said "go", he basically FLEW away !

  • Oh my goodness I haven't seen skeins of wool in years I use to love sitting. With my hands in side a skein and trying unwind it before my mum could wind it up in a ball. I wonder do they still sell like that in the UK ?
    • if I wasn't around to help my mum then she would use the back of a dining room chair, I haven't seen any skeins of wool in the shops Sharon maybe they don't sell them any more in the uk

      • I've got some waiting to be wound but when I asked hubby to help he said he would WHEN I've used all my other wool! So no time soon!

  • oh  this brings back memorys I spent hours doing this for my mum while she wound the skeins into balls of wool my arms use to ache but it was worth it to be given sixpence pocket money

    • I've got some waiting to be wound Ann if you fancy a trip up! Well done to both gran and son. It's a terrible job but someone has to do it!
