Way to go Isabelle! What a lovely temperature change that will be for you too. How many days will you be there? I hope you get to look around a bit. I've never been and I hear it's so scenic. :D
Wow! What exciting news! You'll have to let us all know how it goes!! Pictures! Take pictures =)!
Great news Isabelle ! Yes, definitely we want pictures :-)
I am over excited, and already packing a suitcase for KAS ! pictures there will be, loads ! I can wait ! still a month and half to wait ...
Wow Isabelle that's exciting for you. Fantastic! Have you been before? A small warning. Johannesburg itself is not the most scenic of cities but not far out you'll find some stunning spots x x x
And no matter what it is Africa which has a feel like no where else in the world. I'm very excited for you!
yes I have been there. Depending on the flights, when we have more days in SA, crew members usually rent a lodge outside Johannesburg, to try to meet the wild animals ... I have never been around Johannesburg myself, the city has the reputation of being the most violent in the world ... and usually, my bank account doesn't allow me to go for a photo safary ! My husband is quite worried that I would go to Soweto, he is not very keen ...
I'm sure you would be as safe as you are anywhere if you are accompanied by a local who knows the 'rules' and where, and where not, to venture.
How WONDERFUL Isabelle! We would love to make a plan to meet you and show you the 'on the ground' operation in Johannesburg. Unfortunately we will all be away for a certain period of time over Christmas but perhaps you can send me your dates so that we can try and make a plan before we leave or hwne we come back to Johannesburg?

I'll be arriving on the 22nd, going back to Paris on the 23rd. a bit short ... don't worry if you can't make plans for me, I understand that it's xmas ! I 'll be going to Johannesburg from time to time, I expect ... but if we can meet, it would be wonderfull ! I am very happy to be able to bring the squares and so myself; this means I can tell people around me to knit for KAS with no postal fea problem !
That's great Isabelle! Your enthusiasm came pouring out of my computer screen and really made me smile! Tell me, do cabin crew have the same luggage restrictions as everyone else or are you really going to be able to cram that suitcase full of goodies? You'll be just like Father Christmas!
I don't have weight restrictions (not yet anyway); but I do have to be reasonable ! The limit is what I can carry. I'll be going with my own suitcase (large, with a bit of space for KAS), anothere large suitcase for KAS (the suitcase itself is given to KAS) full of squares, children coats and warm garments, toys ... and my cabin bag (I am at work, after all !). I am already counting on some help from my colleagues ... If Erin could tell me how big the car which will come and fetch the parcels can be, I could ask my colleagues to make similar donations (xmas spirit !). But I have to be sure that she can handle that, because I will be flying on the A380, that's 25 crew members ! Imagine the possible number of parcels ???
