I am delighted to host another KAS monthly and there is something for everyone in this month's topic, Whatever your level of skill, let your imagination run riot with your choice of yarn, stitch, colour, pattern, texture, motif, and design to create squares, beanie hats, hand warmers and toys,
Here are just a few ideas to get your needles clicking, though members from the southern hemisphere will have their own interpretations of their gardens. Be inspired by the colours of nature. Remember that Plain Janes are the foundation of KAS blankets and we would love to reflect a riot of colour in the garden with both self-coloured squares and picture squares.
Some ideas:
Be inspired by a selection of squares made this year by KAS members.
Help to create a garden of delights to bring colour, cheerfulness and warmth into the children's lives.
I look forward to seeing your contributions on the Forum.
THANK YOU

As ever, Chris, you have provided KAS with a stunning blanket. I am in awe at how quickly you create these every month. I love the colour combination, but my favourite element has to be the centre picture of the garden friends. Thank You.,
Another beauty, Chris. I love the cottage garden colours and the appliqued visitors are a super addition.
Really lovely blanket Chris. I love a bit of dark blue and purple, especially combined. Your style is recognisable and you've outdone yourself with the applique choice this time!
A GLORIOUS Spring blanket, Chris....LOVE the colours you have used.
Your cute little birdies are so cute. At the moment we have had the enjoyment of viewing a honey eater (bird) through the clear blinds in our shade house, as she and her mate made their nest in a shrub just on the other side of the blind, sat on the egg and now have a little baby, which we can watch being fed...from a little distance.
Sounds lovely Bev, I love watching the birds in the garden, but your ‘birds eye view’ of the nest and what’s happening is on another level :))
p.s. Are you psychic? This blanket was a Cottage garden blanket, but the one I am working on is a spring blanket, using yarn I had from my son during lockdown. x
Feeling very sad this arvo. The baby flew the nest. My son, Sam, put it back in, wearing gardening gloves, so as not to alienate it from its parents, but sadly little birdie didn't want to stay in the nest. I have seen the mother flying around the nest and in the branches, but he is nowhere to be seen. I have walked the garden for ages, listening for any little tweets, but he is either keeping quiet or he has gone. :(
Your son is a treasure, Chris!! He knows how to keep his mum happy. :)) Can't wait to see it...no pressure....hahaha.
Another winner Chris.
Love your cottage garden blanket, Chris, and the visitors. A great colour combination.
Smashing choices - Is this your garden - if so you're obviously a keen gardener, it's beautiful.
